My cat is driving me crazy what should I do??: |
| |
| I've had this cat ever since she was a kitten (she is now 9 years old)& I love her, but my patience is starting to run out with her. Her name is Shakespeare & lately she has been acting out. I find her spread out sleeping on my dinningroom table, but to make matters worse she has fleas. Lots & lots of fleas. She also has flea bites that are scabbing over. She scratches so bad that she has been pulling out her flur. I find it everywhere around the house. I have tried everything to get rid of them. Flea baths, flea sprays, flea powder. You name it I've tried it. There is only one thing that I found to have worked. The thing is it costs $40 but then it only lasts for one month. We just can't afford to buy that every month. Then there is the fact that she constantly eats...all day long on & off she eats. She eats so fast sometimes that she throws it right back up. Then I find that all over my house afterwards. She has done that ever since she was a kitten but lately it's gotten much worse. I have stains on my carpet that wont even come out anymore. I thought about picking up her food dish, but I can't because my other cat is a picky eater. She nibbles here & there through out the day. The thing is I don't know what to do. I am so stressed out. I have tried everything, but I am at my wits end. I am now at the point where I want to get rid of her. I just can't take it anymore. What would you do? Would you find her a home or just keep on trying? Please help if you can. Thanks. | | My cat Shakespeare | | | | |

| | Hello photographygirl73, There must be something wrong with her behaveour and I you should take her to the vet and also if she is bringing her food its to do with the digestion, you can get Front Line or Programe for the fleas but ask your vet, it may be cheaper there. | | Thank you. I am going to suggest just that to my husband tonight. Something has to be wrong because she never used to act out like this. Thanks again. | | | |

| | Why dont you try frontline for cats on her?. I think it would be better to if you fed both the cats at the same time. The picky one will eat if that is the only time her food is offered to her. Also, where is the cat getting the fleas? I think you should either keep her inside or do something to treat the area if it is an indoor problem. I think foggers are good for indoor areas. I would also consult a vet about her problems. Having animals can be trying I know. I have a dog and cat and they both can stress me out at times. I do love them though. Hang in there! Shakespeare will appreciate it. | | | | | | |

| | Thats just it, she is an indoor cat. Only my dogs go outside & THEY do even have that many fleas. In fact when I gave them a flea bath I only saw one or two. I love her & don't want to get rid of her. I've had her for years. | | | |

| | Your cat needs to see the vet. She is suffering from the fleas. The fleas need to stop. Shakespeare needs Advantage or Frontline, as others have said. You need to feed the cats at specific times, morning and evening. Leave the food down for half an hour, then pick it up. Your other cat will learn to eat meals, and Shakespeare will throw up less often. I wish you lots of luck with your cats. Your cats love you. They need to be with you. | | | | | | |
