Motivating a person

Do you mean you want to know if motivating a person will have a lasting impact on his life? Motivation usually gives good result. But it is most effective when the motivation itself comes from within, from the person itself who needs it. If you are going to motivate a person, and you want it to sustain, you have to make him believe that it is himself that is doing the change. Personally, when my friends motivates me, I accepted it, I appreciated it, and make them see that their efforts has not been wasted. Go on, friend! You can make a difference! Good luck!

I think it depemds on the outlook of the person. If he/she has a positive outlook, he will carry the motivation inside him for a long time and it will have a good result.

To motivate anyone,you should be self motivated.. and never think about results...Because,if you are able to motivate only one out of hundred...that will change his next generation....So my friend, keep motivating,Who knows in which movement you may be changing a generation next.....

Motivating or rather inspiring people is one of the most important task that a leader has. If you cannot get your people to want to work to the best of their ability, then you are basically not much of a leader.

Of course, not everyone can be motivated. Some people are genuinely depressed and some people genuinely cannot do the jobs that they are doing. No amount of speeches and pep talks will be able to help them pick themselves up and go for the goal, so to speak.

However, most people are usually ok at what they do and just afraid of discovering how good they can be. A leader would recognize this and try to make people lose their fear of being good. Not everyone responds to pep talks. Not everyone responds to threats. Not everyone is inspired by the prospect of making money. A good leader has to find a way of appealing to the things that make people want to make the next step. Rumour has it that Jack Welsh had to threaten to sack Jeff Immelt but in the end made him his successor at GE - so there you have it motivation does work,

Then there are times when people feel down. For example, after September 11, 2001, many people did not feel like going to work. The good leaders were those who persuaded people that they had to go on despite the tragedy.

Motivating people does get results and there are simply times when motivation is not just used for the moment but absolutely essential to get things going.

Most of the time is a Heat of the moment.
But you can always find a way to remind him of what is motivating him.
