1. Trace86 (2578) | 4 weeks ago | Adjust the brightness and contrast so it is comfortable to look at. Take frequent breaks. Look away from your computer and focus on something else for a minute every 10 minutes or so. Work in a well lit environment. Dimness makes you strain your eyes more.

Still, I can give you some tips to protect your eyes. 1> You can use Anti-glare glasses 2> Eye drops really help. 3> Don't sit in front of computer for hours continuously. Take a break after some time. 4> Rub your eyes in a circular way before going to bed.

3. padmameera (819) | 4 weeks ago | Hi The usual problems seen as an after effect of long use of computer are itching of eyes, dry eyes, watering etc. Generally this is called as computer eye syndrome. You can protect your eyes by reducing the brightness of the screen, reducing the glare by using anti-glare glasses. LCD screens are better for the eyes. You should not continuously look in to the computer screen for long hours. you can take a break in every half an hour and close your eyes for two minutes. use lubricant drops every day. There are many softwares available which will give you a view break and lock the screen time to time.

5. sirrob (195) | 4 weeks ago | it's not a problem if you work 12hrs as long as its not continuous and that would mean frequent rest and frequent blinking of your eyes too would be beneficial. most of the time we felt pain in our eyes referred as strain caused by dryness of the eyeballs. our tears helps alleviate this and the fluids in our eyes could do wonders in this. another important thing to do is the darkness and brightness of your monitor, adjust them according to your preference that it's not too glary and not too dim as well. make sure that your monitor or you are working in a well lit area in your room and the lights should not be facing towards you that you're going to have a shadow from the light in front of you. it is also not advisable to rub your eyes when it's painful, you just need to take a rest by closing your eyes and constantly blinking it.
