IS Image Everything? My RANT!

Cheers! This is a very good post. I love it.
I don't care what i look like. For me image
is not important. I'm not joining any beauty
pageant so i cared less. Sure they are beautiful
to look at but I'm just staying true to my skin
I go out with out make up or powder on my face.
No lipstick at all.

I am afraid that yes even I have fallen in to this vise. With me looking as good as I do people are always looking to be just like me. 5'10 200 pounds and balding.
I really think this look will catch on:-)
I do have a shirt that say "Who needs hair with a body like this?" (of coarse the shirt is XL. lol.
Seriously though, this is my thought: It took you a long time to get that way so why not work hard and let it take time to get the way you want to be.

LoL this reminds me of yesterday.I was trying to make a video to upload on utube.
Was using laptop & found the song i wanted to be playing in the background..
Anyway after i played it all back i took one look at my hair & burst out laughing,the way the light had hit thro the window i looked like wicked witch of the east,or in my case north ha..Could i care na noo me..Its like shoulder length birds nest style & witchy too..cackle..my body looks like it has been owned & been at by everyone lol.I dont do nailvarnish nor use a handbag..way too girly..
thats enough me thinks!

I am almost ashamed to answer this discussion. I admit it. I am so vain. So very very vain. And even when I was 30 lbs heavier I still walked around like I was better than everyone else.

I am naturally tan being native american though I do pale a little in the winter time. I dye my hair lighter in the summer to make my tan look darker, then dye it darker in the winter to get rid of the lighter roots. I still get pimples once a month and I detest the dark circles under my eyes.

I have a basket full of "quick fix creams, powders, and make up" that I have spent entirely too much money on for the amount of time I actually have to use it.

So I am happy with how I look but forever joke about wanting a tummy tuck and fat replacement surgery. (I want a doctor to take the fat off my @$$ and inject it into my boobs)

But I loathe anyone who has a spray on tan, fake blonde hair, hair extensions, or any plastic parts or collagen injected pieces.

I can see doing something naturally to improve your appearance. Eat better, get more sleep, start exercising....etc. But anyone who resorts to cosmetic applications to fix their issues have more issues than a plastic surgeon can fix. They should save their money and keep a shrink on call 24/7.:)

You left one out. So that means that you don't have crow's feet because surely you must be using Botox right???

Must be all those things you mentioned and the hormones in McDonalds hamburgers that are doing it. Because when I was younger, girls were built differently than they are now.

And kids, while being the picture of physical perfection on the outside, have a bunch of problems on the inside from all this. And most of it is the emotional stresses that attack between their ears first.

Those soap opera's make the older ones think that it is best to keep being young. I remember when you could tell the difference between the mothers and Grandmothers but now adays every one is young. I miss those days but it is true they are all gone. It is sad though when the only way you can think to be pretty is when you go under a surgerical needle. I even seen prefectly neat teeth being placed into a brace.

Well it is good to love yourself but there are peer pressure and when you want to be among the crowd you tends to forget and play along. I am totally against it because when you continue to used all those artificial items then whenever you are not wearing it then you look like a walking ghost. I don't wear make up, wig nor the other addition. It is good when you can be proud of being who you are.

Continue to be who you are Irish.

What can I say, Irish? I've been expecting a rant like this for a few weeks.

Ever since I created the "Stepford Wives," I've become a persona non grata. How dare my detractors claim that I want all women to look alike, to be real domestic goddesses and become good for nothing but subservient work while looking like a million dollars? The next thing I expect to be blamed for is producing the video the following link points to.

Seriously, I see where you’re coming from … but think about it: If everyone looked like a Hollywood starlet we wouldn’t have anyone to admire, to stalk, to want to emulate.

I say stand up and be proud of the you that you are! You are a unique person with unique features and unique values. Difference is what separates us from everyone else, whether our teeth be sparkly white or a chipped here and there.

Cellulite or cellophane or cell phones … who cares?

Of course I can still love the imperfect you as you can still love the imperfect me.

If we were meant to be perfect, wouldn’t we be God?

Yes it is very sad that people see you for what you are, it all looks and figures there are too much image maginzes around and that is not healthy for anyone. I really agree with when everything is saging we are still the same but all those plastic people get old and no can afford to keep themselves looking young what then, they would worst then anyone who never had plastic surgery done hehehe.

But I do so agree with everything you have said. If we can't accept ourselves, imperfections and all, then we will never be truly accepting of others and then when it can get nasty. So hold your head, put your shoulders back, smile and walk proud! You're are woman, you are strong, you are gorgeous!

Irish, I agree! It was bad enough when women thought they had to be perfect, but now so many men do too! I have rarely worn makeup during my life; I hate the feel of it, plus, I think it's just nasty! lol I used to wear mascara sometimes, but after I started wearing glasses all the time, my eyelashes touched my glasses all day! I have fair skin and freckles and red hair, so I don't do tans! Not on purpose, anyway. I have had a "farmer's tan" from being outside gardening, though. Sometimes I forget to wear sunblock.

I would have to be totally remade from scratch to fix all my flaws! lol I guess it's a good thing they don't bother me. Speaking of teeth, I have one canine that is darker than my other teeth. It's always been that way. Every time I go to the dentist, someone wants to whiten it for me. They have made me really self-concious about it, but being stubborn, I won't do anything to it.

I don't know why people treat aging as a disease. I love looking at old faces. They are a beautiful thing to me. I think I look younger than I am, but getting older is a natural thing, and I'm just gonna go with it. I just wish that more people were as concerned with their brains and hearts as they are their looks.
