Have you ever seen a spider with 100's of baby spiders on its back?  

Awww, how would you like to be sprayed to death with windex.. you and your hundreds of special little babies? I feel bad whenever I kill a bug :( I find it hard to do.

I would recommend Creepy Crawly. It's a spray that works great in my house. It almost has an invisible barrier that keeps the bugs away. Lasts for about 3 months than you have to respray. But you spray the cracks and baseboards all around the whole house and outside perimeter works great for us so that is what i would recommend. As for that momma spider if that happened in my house all the men here would be moving out. They are all petrified of spiders. lol. Good Luck.

You got your hands full and what a creepy mess ewww. I hate spiders and I have them here to but thank god for my cat for he will kill them all along with others bugs he see includeing wasps the brave soul he is. I can rent out my cat to you for a month and garuntee your house would be spider free he loves going after those buggers. All those spider would .
I have never paid attentio to if spiders were on ones back but when you mentioned how you sprayed them with windex and drowned them I had to that was to funny but I don't blame you I would have to. I do hope you get your problem resolved and good luck.

Oh this reminds me of when I lived at my other house. One morning I turned on the shower, stepped under the water and felt what I thought was hair tickling my shoulders, so I reached up and washed my shoulder off. I looked down at my hands and I see little black spots all over my hands, arms, shoulders. I couldn't figure out what the heck it was until I looked up to see thousands of tiny baby spiders covering the entire ceiling of my shower and hundreds of them were raining down on my body. I don't have a fear of spiders thank goodness and I just stood there staring at them and laughed. I couldn't believe how many of them there were! So I grabbed my wash cloth got it all soapy and proceeded to wipe down the ceiling and walls of my shower. Once I got them all off from above, I proceeded with my shower. It took me quite a while to pick all their tiny dead carcasses and their little silky strands out of my hair.

As I said I wasn't afraid of them but I will admit to having a major case of the itchy creepy crawlys for a few days afterwards! As a matter of fact to this day I glance up at the ceiling before I step into my shower!

When I moved into my current house, it was overrun with spiders. I noticed that when I started using an orange oil based cleaning product the number of spiders in my kitchen went down drastically. I now use it for all household cleaning and have not had a problem with spiders since. Just for curiousity sake I looked up natural spider repellents on the web. It seems that they don't like citrus oils. So the cleaner serves two purposes..... fine with me!

Ok first, it is a wolf spider. It eats other insects, and loves to eat cockroaches at that size. They are beneficial. To my knowledge, they don't attack humans. They don't make webs and they are solitary hunters. As they don't make webs, the mother carries the babies on her back until they are large enough to fend for themselves. We happily let these spiders live in our storage rooms and have never had a pest problem out there.

Second, pesticides do not kill spiders like they kill other pests. You have to have a special pesticide and as your exterminator said, it has to be sprayed directly on them. (Spiders won't absorb it through their exoskeleton like other bugs.)

Third, if you can catch them and put them out in any garden, the garden will do better. The remains of the bugs they eat will help the plants get the nutrients they need without as much store-bought fertilizer.

It is up to you what you decide to do. Just realize that if you get rid of the spiders, you may have other pest problems later that you didn't realize. If they are showing up in your house with tons of babies, that means there is plenty of food. At the size you described, I would expect they are feeding off roaches and other large bugs somewhere on your property.
