Do You Like Photography? |
| |
| I really enjoy taking pictures and wish I could pursue the hobby a bit more. I would love an old 35 mm camera with all the lenses. My brother has this super cool new digital camera with exchangeable lenses like a 35 mm camera. I would love one of those. I had a friend, in photography, several years ago and he told me it's no longer feasable to develop your own film. The digitals are so advanced now and it's much cheaper to process the pictures. Take a look at this picture of my new kitty. I took it with my little Olympus digital camera. Do you think I have some talent for photography, or should I just keep to my hobby? Don't worry about offending me, I will do whatever I want anyways. | | kitten | | | | |

| | Did you know that your photo never showed up in the respond notice in the email? I hope you enjoy it. I take a lot more pictures since I got a camera in my cell phone. My cell camera is only 2 or 3 megapixels. Most digital cameras are 6 these days. And my little phone takes great pictures. | | | | | | |

| | I did get to see them both now. I left a comment on the first one. Kitties are cute. I love the instinctive jungle cat aspect to them. They are semi socialized at best. Gotta love cats. | | | |

| | I'm not a fan of cats and responding to discussions from email alerts don't allow me to see pictures but I will look at it after I am done commenting. I love my olympus digital camera. It's waterproof, crush proof, freeze proof, and comes with 19 settings that takes the guess work out of which setting to use for which pictures, although I have found that the "sport" setting works the best for almost anything I want to take. I used to work for a photographer and the cost of the chemicals, film, machine to process, etc was almost more than he made taking peoples photos. His business closed early 2001 when everyone had to run out and buy a Kodak easy share. He was really good though and I wish I had an iota of his talent for taking pictures. My step brother does well though. So it looks like I will stick to being in the pictures instead of taking them. | | | | | | |

| | HEY! That weren't MY hand in there! LOL! Am not a cat person, much either. Dogs are my thing, but kittens are cool and they are for my wee son, so I can love them for him. He's tickled pink. | | | |

| | Irish, I use an Olympus myself, and I get a tremendous amount of enjoyment having it hang off the handlebars of my bike when I go out for my daily rides. There is SO much to see here in Florida, as I imagine there must be in TAXES ... and I don't want to miss a chance to capture something that I can enjoy long after. My camera was expensive by today's standards, probably close to $500, but it's capable of taking motion pictures with sound and it has other features, some of which I've never used. I'm replying via e-mail, so I cannot see the image you've attached, but if your new kitties were an example of your work, I'd say pursue it. We're in a learning process all of our lives and we're never too old to learn, are we? Memo to self: Picture this. Picture that. Picture EVERYTHING and enjoy it for years to come. | | My camera is an Olympus FE 250. It's pretty nice for such a wee little thing. It has a zoom lens and it also take vids with sound. Not bad either. It's 8.0 megapixel and has a rechargeable ion battery that last forever before it needs recharging. My man did alot of research and got me a good one. Before I had a Canon which lasted several years and was a good first digital camera. It took sound vids as well. Thanks friend! | | | |

| | Your friend is absolutely right. In todays world of high resolution digital images, to succeed as a photographer takes a lot more than it used to. I don't agree with him about no longer developing your own. I develop my own black and whites - have done for years, and they still compete with digitals. Personally I'm not a fan of digital photography. Almost anyone today can take a 'great' digital picture. PHOTOGRAPHY is not about great pictures though. It's about the vision held by the artist/photographer expressed through their pictures. So to be a good photographer, you have to have a visual voice, a personal style, a consistency of approach and execution to your photographs that sets you apart from the competition. You have to have an artists 'eye' that sees 'something' in the photo subject that others don't see until they see your picture. Good luck Irish. And learn about light, and how to make it work for those photographs, not just great pictures. | | | | | | |

| | I love black and whites and I really like Sepia prints. I do our home pics in sepia and frame in a dark frame. It goes well with our rustic decor. | | | |

| | That is a very cute picture, and a good eye, the only thing that would make that picture a little better would be to edit it, crop out all the extra 'noise' and bring the kitty to the main focus of the picture. I have always loved photography, I studied it for 3 years, developing my own film and pictures, and I have to agree it really isn't feasible with all the digital cameras, high def printers, and editing programs now. I was given a DSLR camera for Christmas this past year, and I love it. My s/o also gave me a high def printer to go with the camera. He said that at some point (which I don't remember lol) that I had stated how much I love photography, just goes to show, men do listen sometimes! lol And he also said it would upgrade my scrapbooking! lol One of the best ways to improve your photography skills is to just keep taking lots of pictures, and look at lighting, shadows, and what is in the background. I take pictures of diffent things and events, and normally will take anywhere from 100 - 500 pictures at any given event. My theory in that is that I may take 500 and get 50 really great shots. I have also always had the 'talent' of 'seeing' a picture before taking it. And always take your camera with you, you never know when there will be a photo op. | ms piggy

| | I love takeing pictures of anything in interest. I don't have a regular camera only a disposable one. I take pictures of my cat, my son, and a few pictures during different times of the season to have for rememberence. I should buy myself a digital camera and get alot more. You never know what you really like until you try it well I can now say this is one of my favoriite things to do. With a digital camera you get better quality on pictures than what I use. I hope you enjoy take your pictures good luck take care. | | | | | | |

| | Hi friend... I also share same hobby with you. I also like photography a lot. I use my Nikon FM10 film camera. It takes superb photos, but as you all know it is a bit expensive using film cameras. So, often I use my Sony Ericsson W700i phone in capturing photos. It comes with 2MP camera. For some lesser important photographieng I use it. Am a big natute lover, so, my photos are often about nature and landscape. | | | | | | |
