1. mrghill (1414) | 3 months ago | I work in the appliance repair industry and the "Ceran" glass cook tops are the most difficult to clean after cooking greasy food on it. I always recommend to my customers to use a glass cleaner with added grease cutting action and a soft 100% cotton towel. If that doesn't cut it for you, use a hammer.

2. susaneverson (4876) | 3 months ago | Hi Dianel. Jeff says to try coke. I know it takes grease off of an engine/car motor so it might work on your stove top. Susan

susaneverson (4876) | 3 months ago | Me too!!! I remember the experiments we did in school!!!! If you have a coke at home, try a little on another piece of glass, not the stovetop, and see if it does any damage. Susan

craftcatcher (1761) | 3 months ago | Thanks for the BR! I'm glad you found something that works well. I use baking soda on my tub and shower walls. It's good for soap scum too and no chemicals to choke you half to death.

7. mentalward (1773) | 3 months ago | I bought something specifically made for glass-top stoves. It's called Weiman "Cook Top" glass cook top cleaner. We got a little sample of it with the stove when we bought it and it worked so well that I had to buy more. It cuts through grease and gets the burned-on stuff right off! I'm sure a good degreaser would do the trick as well, but this Weiman stuff works so well that I won't use anything else. P.S. I LOVE those Magic Erasers! They're great for scuff marks on walls and floors!

dianel (4234) | 3 months ago | Thats for the info marti. I will try that. Baking soda is working pretty well and is very cheap lol. Yeah i like the magic erasers too but I guess they can be very harmful to children. Diane

dianel (4234) | 3 months ago | Hi Louise I was told by the guy that installed it that all i could use to clean it was hot soapy water and for the dirt a razor blade. He said not to use anything harsh on it like comeet or soft scrub. And Im not going to try anything either Im using baking soda it seems to cut the grease. Diane

9. chrislotz (4577) | 3 weeks ago | I use a spray or soap like Mr. Clean or Kitchen spray. Anything that has a strong grease cutting agent in it. I find that dish soap isn't strong enough sometimes. I usually put some Mr. Clean or Pinesol into a pail with water and give it a good scrub but first put some on it and let it sit for a few minutes. I am responding from my email so I can't see what other people have said till after I post my response and I am interested in hearing if there is an easier way that works good, so I will be reading the other responses you get. Thanks for this discussion, any hints to help make our housework easier.
