If you could only tell your child 1 thing?

Parents, If you were only afforded the opportunity to tell or teach your thing, what would it be? Obviously we spend most of our parenthood teaching and nurturing our children. Often forsaking our dreams and goals so that they have the opportunity to realize their dreams and goals. But what if you could only tell them one thing, that would last them a lifetime? You only get one shot....make it count! I would tell my son that education and knowledge is power. I would tell him that the one thing that no one can take from him is that information that he has learned. That education will open doors that people will sometimes close. I would tell him that with a good education that he is armed to take on the world. What would you say to your child?

"Be happy and enjoy your life fully.... So many things and problems will come to your way...Dont go to think too much.. just face it with a smil on your face..." this is what i am going to say to my baby. And this is what i learned in this life to face this world...Keep smilling...

I would teach them how to treat others with love, respect and kindness. I think that if they knew how to do that, then they would find others that would look out for their best interests as well. Someone else would care enough to show them that education is important. Others would like him and want him to succeed. If he knew how to be good to others, other's would be good to him and he would be supported not only by me but all those that loved and cared about him.

I would teach him/her the value of faith, faith in God. If he/she dedicates his/her life and lift his/her heart to God, then everything follows. My child would follow a good path, because God is good. His teachings would further guide my child. I'll draw my child close to God, and if it's the only thing I can do, then God will do the rest.

"True friends stab you in the front". I think that's sufficient, after all, their AWESOME genetics can take care of the rest, LOL!

As a mother there is a lot of things that I would like to pass on to my son as a good role model. I try to give him patience and understanding every day. Children need so much from us as good parents. I would have to say that I would like to tell my child that he needs to accept people for what and who they are because that is what life is about. There will be people that he might not like, but please accept people.

Hello relundad, if I was to say only one thing to my child and my child was old enough to understand it, then I would tell him that I love him! As I started writing I had something else in my head, which is also very important, but a child should know that he is loved. Regards. Umart
