Would you notice a Penny?  |

 I was packing the last of my daughters stuff up and found some coins on her floor. I started counting them and it was $.28. I don't know why I inspected them closer and realized one of the penny's was plastic. It was the same size and color as the rest.
Would you notice if a bank or a store gave you a plastic penny with the rest of your change or do you think it being a penny you wouldn't even notice?

 meggan79 (441) | 4 weeks ago | This one is just a tiny bit bigger then the actual penny and maybe a pencil tip thicker. Compared to a shiny brand new penny it would stick out like a sore thumb, but when put with older dirty penny's the coloring is the same. | |

But, I would have definitely said something about it if a clerk at a store or bank gave me that. I mean, a penny's a penny and it all counts. You said you picked up 28 cents and that might just be enough, if you combine with with some other cash, to pay for a soda or something. I use my pennies all the time.

To keep her busy one day I told her that all the money she found on the ground we would put into a container and then when we had 20k saved up we would use it to buy a house. So she picks up anything that looks like money to go into the house buying fund. | |

If it was me, I would be interested in taking it to my local bank and having this looked into a little more. But at the same token, unless I was putting pennies in a pile to be rolled up, I would probably never notice that something was a little different with them anyways.

5.  dont_pick_your_nose (763) | 4 weeks ago |  I would notice strait away because it feels different if you could somhow pass the coin in amongst other coins of the same donomonation then maybe but they will probably still notice and think it is kinda weird think you are trying to sneak a penny off in. i would try notes if i was going to do it. Atleast you can make them feel and look right. Most of the check out people wouldn't check for verification marks and you could say you didn't know.
