I do not know, but the news here is showing all that smog in Beijing! Something has to change. Quickly! We cannot breathe well and I bet that you are feeling the same way! How many people have to get asthma and other breathing disorders? We are going to end up with no cars, no meat, no wheat, and literally going back to the garden of Eden! Eat the fruits and vegetables, drink your mama's milk until you are in school, then drink juice and water from the spring! Schools will be local, like the one room school house used to be. What country in the world has the least pollution? I think it may be Africa. What can we learn from all this?

I am not sure what you mean? Are you combining discussions with my responses? What does AIDS have to do with Peking Duck? Where is Peking Man anyway? You know, the fossil bones?

If you are going to be picky, what did Africa have to do with Peking Duck?

Is the Peking Man cooking the Peking Duck? I don't know, and shouldn't it be renamed Beijing Duck? These and many other questions will remain answered at least until someone has the answer and then it wont be a question anymore.

Anyway......back to the ovens. They are being replaced, so we can all breathe (phew!) a sigh of relief.

Hey, olivemai, i think Scoop_Dogg mentioned AIDS, starvation and death] because you said that Africa is the least polluted place. Yeah, you may right, but there's no perfect thing in the world. It's little contaminated, however, it may not have advanced technologies to better improve people's lives. Just like Peking Duck, it's delicious, but its oven cause pollution, although i'm not sure as i don't know the cooking process. I hope it will not cause asthma. But I do consider Peking Duck symbolizes Chinese culture to some extent. Hope this will not be forbidden abroad. Glad to hear that they will change ovens.
Well, in fact, lots of things we use to cook will do damage to our health. Mircowave ovens will cause radiation, this can't be avoided completely, at least from my point of view.
As to Peking Man, well, people live or born in Beijing for long term, we can call them peking man. Peking is the old name of Beijing. But in history, peking man is a kind of ancient people in China.

I understood more after thinking about it, but all I wrote meant that we can learn from the least polluted countries! Not that it is paradise now.

Yeah, i'm Chinese. I ate Peking Duck, but not in Beijing. There're lots of restaurants in China, different provinces. I like it, although i don't know whether it's as good as that of Beijing

I have since read an article saying that they are ordering new ovens, so if you ever get to the UK you will still be able to get your peking duck.

Wow, thanks so much for that. I'm working hard on improving my English these days. And I felt frustrated a couple of days ago as my English wasn't improved, at least no big achievement. I thought my English was good before, but when i come to work in the joint-venture with foreigners and after years of stopping practice, it degenerated. Yeah, maybe it's not that good as i thought before. We can only feel the shortage when using it.

I agree with you completely! I thought she lived in the UK for a while but when I rechecked her profile it says China! I think you do a wonderful job of writing English. There are many accents or dialects but written it is very similar and you do a great job! I understand most everything that you wrote!
