I think its not correct if mylot site is there till then.
Personally it all depends upon the person thinks.If you think in a positive way than it won't be a big problem but if it is in other direction than we surely get unhappy.

actually it depends on how a person live his life. it depends if he still have hang ups, frustrations or any unresolved issues in life.
when we reach that age, we are in stage of despair vs self actualization.
so better solve all our issues now that we are still young! to have a happy and content life when we grow old.

No, Max, that is not necessarily true. What makes a person happy or unhappy is not their age but the quality of their life. If they have a happy home, enjoy their work and feel appreciated. I am 53 and I left a very good job up north to move to south Florida and take a job paying less than half of what I had been making...but...I was miserable up there and am very happy down here. I needed peace of mind and I found that. Your life is what you make it so don't plan to be mean and miserable when you're older, plan to be happy and content. Think about your future now..what you would like to do, how you would like to live and then set out to do it. I know people who are in their 70s and 80s who are very nice and very happy.

As a very sweet older woman once said to me, grumpy old people were grumpy young people.

Age doesn't really change people that much. A bit of maturity may be found; hopefull, some wisdom seeps in. However, barring major physical or mental health issues, the overall personality really doesn't change all that much.

No I don't think this is true at all. I think often people of a higher age are more happier. Just think once they hit that age most of their kids, if not all have moved out of their house and now they have what they call an "empty nest." Now they can do what they want again and it's almost as if their life reverts back to how it was before kids came in the picture. I know my parents are very happy and they are almost 60. So nope, I don't think you get meaner and unhappy as you age!

Hi Maximo..its almost like you want me to be mean or unhappy but sorry..I'm a very happy person and really have to be since i own a store and deal with people everyday..i live alone..can do what i want..see whom i want and never have to answer to anyone..so why would that make anyone mean or unhappy?..I've been around alot longer than you and tend to get a little cocky with comments sometimes but i feel i have a right and if anyone misrepresents that as being mean than i say tough..i'm older, wiser and lets talk when you are 56..lol

Ehh not everybody...maybe men more than women though. I don't have too many male role models that actually lived a whole lot past that age but none of them were all that nice most of the time....they would have their nice moments though. My s/o is only 12 years from that age (!!! !!!) and if he gets any more miserable I definitely won't have to worry about it because I will be long gone!

well that is definitely not true. it's all a matter of perspective. my parents didn't become meaner or more unhappy as they age. i've met happy elderly and mean ones too. i think that it's how they think life has treated them. if one is grateful for everything, then they'll be happy. but if one keep feeling that life has cheated them of what they deserve, then they'll be mean and unhappy even when young. i sure hope i'll grow old as a happy person. cheers;p
