Which Antivirus Is The Lightest On System Memory Usage? |
|
Few days ago, i got an email from a friend asking me for which would be the best antivirus to use on an old pc which won't slow down the computer. There are easily free antivirus and i couldn't really tell which one is the lightest on memory usage because I've never really compared all of them. I know for sure the latest free AVG 8.0 is bloated and it takes up a lot of memory and i could only guess "maybe" Avira Antivir Personal is the lightest. Actually this question has been on my mind for quite sometime now and i'd be glad to know the answer. What will you suggest my lotters?

Its a user friendly antivirus. If you want to use free antivirus then try avira antivirus. Its the best antivirus among the free antivirus. But i will prefer you to try Nod32 because free antivirus don't all types of security which a paid antivirus has. keep posting...

AVira is light on system resources but I am not sure how effective it is in detecting viruses, because it didn't detect a virus which was detected by CA Antivirus. CA Antivirus is a commercial antivirus but it is very light on the system and integrates seamlessly with Windows XP or Vista. I do not mind paying a little for a good program.

6. dreamssri (665) | 1 month ago | i'll say that Avira AntiVir is tthe best, free, low memory using anti-vius software...or if you dont like that, then try using avast home edition..thats also really good.. But never ever think of AVG 8...it takes 50MB of RAM memory(im afraid!)...but if you think, memory doesn't matter...go with this...its best, except that one disadvantage... Thanks, Sri
