Cure for AIDS?

I can't lie I've wondered about that myself. It seems very odd that they have the technology to make artifical hearts, create a vaccine to help prevent cervical cancer, and like you said clone animals but they havent made any advancements to help cure AIDS. I like to think they're doing everything they can, and it's a very complicated task but I have to admit, I have wondered about that too.

A small human study may point the way to a cure for AIDS. Behind the stunning results is a totally new approach to HIV treatment. It makes use of an epilepsy drug -- valproic acid -- that flushes HIV out of its most remote hiding places in the body. Combined with powerful HIV drugs, the approach might totally eliminate the AIDS virus from the body. That promises a cure for AIDS, says study leader David M.Margolis, MD. A decade ago, there was great optimism that powerful AIDS drug combinations would eliminate HIV from the bodies of infected people. These highly active antiretroviral therapies -- HAART -- put the AIDS virus on the defensive. The drugs kept HIV levels so low, it was hoped that the virus would soon vanish from the body.
The main problem with Hiv is that when it enters the body it kept on changing their shape. for example if u give a drug of ---square--- molecules to eradicate the hiv, hiv will change his shape in square thus will reduce the effect of drug to zero. but now doctors of the world are trying to solve this great problem through many inventions like one i mentioned above and other is by generating robot drugs which only attack hiv molecules in which ever shape they are. so its on progress and will have good results soon just wait and watch friend...
