Can A Computer Change Someone..? |
|
well I was told many times I am the way I am because of the computer. My family says that me being on the computer changed me and now I'm all different. I don't see how they can blame a computer for changing someone. I think It's if the person wants to change. Why does it have to be the computer anyway, I don't see Tv's out there changing people or Ipods haha.. I think there just over reacting.. what is your Opinion..? You Think Computers Can Change Someone..? Fi nto Computers other stuff ..

1. movicont (364) | 1 month ago | Yeah, overuse of the computer can definitely change someone. Just like overuse of the TV, cellphone so on and so forth. In fact, I think there's a lot of research that's gone into showing how TV negatively affects us (like how it can increase chances of ADD and other behavioral problems). Likewise, the computer can cause these issues as well. While I haven't heard consistent research on the subject, it's relatively easy to guess that spending too much time on the computer can make you become more isolated, as you prefer to speak to people online rather than folks in real life. In fact, it's probably your family that notices this change the most, as they are the ones living in close proximity with you.

Hatley (11217) | 1 month ago | hi humbug a person is in chargeof changeing herself, not an inamimate object. A person has a right to change her interests and if her interests are mylotting whats so bad about that, there is always time to go out later. Mylotting is not something horrible to do, try it you will like it. lol.

3. Hatley (11217) | 1 month ago | hi maxehmo I doubt that a computer can really change a person, you may change while using a computer but that is your doing as the computer is just an inanimate thing. You are always ultimately in charge of making changes in yourself whether you are using a computer or dancing a jig or drawing a picture. anyway we are always changing, life would be so boring if we did not grow and change from one year to another. change is not wrong, its just change.

5. OreoCookie3 (13344) | 1 month ago | I don't think computers change us... I just think we become focused on what we are doing and spend so much time doing it that we don't relate to other people all that much.. but that doesn't me we changed. It just means that someone noticed we are busy and not talking much to them... that happens to me all the time.

6. DevilHands (266) | 1 month ago | Yes, in my opinion it can definitely change people. I can set myself as an example. When I was a kid, I use to play a lot and interact with other people, but the first time I got my hand on computer and thoroughly enjoyed it, my social life went down drastically. You can also go into a computer renting shop and observe the people playing there, when they get too excited... they can get a bit scary.

| 8. efredman (1) | 1 month ago | My parents have told me similar things, and for much of my life under their house i vehemently disagreed with them. However, when I began to play less computer I noticed that I became much slower to anger, much more receptive of other's feelings and a whole lot happier. I think that violent games can certainly play a part in raising ones blood pressure which can contribute to extreme anger in certain situations. I also believe that that lack of outdoor and social activity and cause depression and more negative moods. With that said however, I do believe that a balanced portion of gaming can be harmless and even healthy. So as long as you are managing to balance your social life with that of computer gaming you should be fine

9. nixxi76 (490) | 1 month ago | I think computers have changed life in general and made a lot of people lazier. The convenience of everything in a person's home coming from a machine is not exactly how your parents thought life would become. I think parents have a hard time with changes to tell you the truth. The internet is a total different world as we know it. I was at a work inservice and they were talking about all the different generations and it started with the Baby Boomers- people who finished school, had great credit financially and retired or still are retiring. Generation X- People who usually are not in any rush and say if they work somewhere and only work part time, they are offered hours but don't take them. They pretty much adjust to anything. Then there is the Millinium babies which were born around computers. Everything is all done for them. I'm sure this is what your parents are referring to. Have a good day
