| Pet Have You Well Trained? | | | | I swear that Lady has got to rank among the world’s most spoiled pets. She probably ranks somewhere near Leona Helmsley’s dog, “Trouble,” who inherited $12 million after Helmsley died at age 87 last year. The only difference is that neither Lady nor I are worth billions. Last night when we went to bed, Lady insisted on a “sleepover” with two of her stuffed friends, a chicken and a skunk. Generally right before she settles down to sleep, Lady positions herself at the foot end of the bed, taking up an entire corner. She abandoned her sleepover friends in order to get her beauty rest. This morning after I took her outside to “do her thing,” I went into our bedroom to make the bed. I took Stinky and Cluck-Cluck and tossed them into one of the walk-in closets that houses Lady’s rather extensive toy collection. No sooner did they hit the floor, they were back on the yet-unmade bed, along with Lady who was happily tossing them in the air and retrieving them as they fell to the floor. I scooped them up a second time and tossed them back to her menagerie. Again, she returned first with the chicken, followed shortly by the skunk. This time I opened the slider leading to the pool and tossed both onto the lanai. Lady dutifully followed. I closed the door in order to make the bed in peace. Just a few minutes ago we were outside. I was getting the grille ready to put some chicken on for supper later (not Lady’s). Lady was busy playing with Stinky and Cluck-Cluck. I didn’t realize that I’d left one of the sliders ajar and she disappeared. After I finished with the grille I went back inside. Lady was nowhere in sight. A quick call to her told me that she was in her bedroom. I walked in and lo and behold there, on top of my bed, were the skunk and chicken. I suppose they're back to stay ... for now. I guess that was Lady’s way of telling me that Stinky and Cluck-Cluck are finally out of the closet are to be her new best friends forever, at least until her temporary allegiance lasts, and to tell me just who runs this house! Does your pet have “favorite” toys that change from time to time? Does your pet take them to bed? Does your pet have the last word when it comes to inviting who will or will not share your bed? Memo to self: Whatever Lola wants … uh … whatever LADY wants, LADY gets. © 2008 RJScott | | Lady's New Best Friends Forever | | | | | | | | | Dog Photos, Info& News Helpful Articles, Products& More. Bud the male cat will play with a shoe lace or a ribbon till there is nothing left but string on both of them....... And both of them have to have their pillows that are full of catnip....When they go to sleep at night they have to have their head on their own pillow....I know they have us trained very well.... | | | | | | | | | | Cats Dogs Get Address, Phone, Background Info & More on Cats Dogs!
