Which of your sense organs would you trust? | | I am referring to the eyes, ears, nose, skin, and tongue. I would trust my nose the most. So far, it has never deceived me. My dog just said "Woof!" and agreed with me heartily. I get all sorts of smells everyday, and they all tell true stories. So, I would trust my nose the most. If I smell something, then there is something. I never smell anything if there is nothing.:) Now, I wouldn't trust my eyes so much. First, I am myopic and can't see half the things around me. And many times, a rope has looked like a snake and a human being squatting on the ground has looked like some animal. So, I guess I can't trust my eyes. As for my ears, I am a selective listener. I guess most of us are. We hear the things we want to hear, and forget the rest. And many times we argue that we heard the other say something when the other has said nothing. Now, this has happened to me. So, my ears deceive me a lot. As for my skin, so many times, I have felt as if something has touched me, and when I turned, there was nothing. No, I don't believe in ghosts because I have never smelt one in my life. I wouldn't believe if I see it. I have seen too many things that aren't there. And I trust my tongue the least. So many times, it has said things that I did not really mean and gotten me into trouble. So, my nose is my best friend. What about you? Cheers and happy mylotting

| | | | | | 1. angelia286 (621) | 5 months ago | Out of the five senses, I would trust.. Hmm.. let me break it down into a discussion: 1. Nose My sense of smell is not sensitive at all, and I can't smell odours from far, like when someone farted and the whole office is saying it stinks, I just cannot smell it. Furthermore, my nose is really sensitive to dust, just not smell, and majority of the time, I would end up with a stuffy nose. Verdict: I can't trust my nose at all! 2. Ears My ears is very sensitive to sound and could pick up sounds that others has yet to hear. This special sense of hearing is something that I am really proud of as sometimes I am able to 'predict' things and trick my friends, and they would be like really impressed that I am able to tell the future. But, really it's all because I heard it, and so, I could predict it. Verdict: I trust my sense of hearing (ears) a lot! 3. Eyes I am wearing spectacles! Need I say more? Lol, I am as blind as a bat should anybody take off my spectacles or when I am not wearing my contact lens. It's a well known fact that our eyes could decieve us, and majority of us feel that we could always trust what we are seeing, but one question is that can we really trust what is in front of us? Sometimes, what is right in front of our eyes might not be what it appears to be. So... Verdict: I don't trust my eyes at all! 4. Tongue Due to smoking, my sense of taste has deteriorated to an extent that I am not sensitive at all to tastes, and sometimes, I can't even taste my food! When cooking, I would add lots of salt and feel that the food taste just nice, but everybody else would be saying that it is just too salty to be edible. So can I trust it? Haha to a certain extent, of course, my tongue is very sensitive when it comes to certain thing that requires intimacy. Lol..=) 5. Skin Not much feeling in the skin. Not sensitive. Zilnch. Lol, it's weird but I guess I have a high tolerance to pain, temperature (cold/hot) and eroticness. I never have the feeling whereby my hairs stand on its end.. I never have the feeling of pain even when my cigarette is burning my skin. I never have the feeling of eroticness when my boyfriend is massaging me. So.. nothing much to comment on this. Lol. Verdict: Undecided. Final Conclusion: I trust my sense of hearing the most! (My ears) and it goes down into this order - ears, tongue, eyes, skin and nose.

| | 2. Nonnymouse (405) | 5 months ago | Most certainly I trust my nose the most. I can smell a wisp of smoke a mile away. Certain foods smell so strong I can be totally put off eating them. I can smell the trees and the grass and the earth. My eyes are not so marvellous. I saw a whole heap of gray kangaroos at the bottom of the paddock and rushed to get the binoculars only to find they were actually fallen branches from a large tree. Hearing? My doctor said 'how is your hearing?' I replied 'Sorry, what did you say?'. Enough said about that I think. Sense of touch? Not so good because my hands are a bit stiff and swollen. Taste? When you get older you lose quite a large percentage of your taste buds. All in all I think the sense of smell will be the one to save my life in an emergency.
