Where the hell is the remote control?!

At our house everything stops if the remote control is missing. We are reaching into chairs looking under neath chairs goig=ng from room to room looking inanely for the remote. I really wonder why the makers of those contraptions dont put somekind of device on it that squeaks of something if you touch the tv screen or something. It seems to be a common problem everyone loses their remote at least sometimes.

You have the same problem as my husband, oldest child, and youngest child have. I have no problem getting up to turn the channel because honestly it takes less effort than searching the house for the remote. My husband will go upstairs to take the remote from the middle child's room, and the television is much closer. I am always left in shock over this. Oh, the child's television and the living room television are the same brand or whatever televisions are called, so one will work on the other one.

That was funny, you were the remote, do you happen to remember when the remote had a cord on it? lol I thought that was so stupid to have that strung across the living room just to turn the channel.

My husband and I always fight over who gets the remote control as whoever has the reomote contoal has control over what we are watching and we had different tastes when it comes to tv.

I'm sure I would, if I HAD a TV, but up here in Canada I don't have one. When my husband and I are watching TV, I usually hold the remote, so I can adjust the volume when I need to. I hae rather sensitie heaing, so when certain sounds or commercials hit and I need the volume adjusted NOW, I don't really hae the time o watch y husband umble with he uttons. LOL

Oh yes I have gone through this frenzy too. Though I can still turn the TV on manually. We don't have cable so the TV is hooked up to rabbit ears through the VCR. We can't even change the channel manually. It has to be with the remote. With the one that we have you would think that it would be easy to spot. but still it gets hidden. See the picture that is what we have. Now I ask you how can that get lost?

saying. How did we ever live without the remote control. How
did we ever operate the tv when we had to get up and walk
across the room to turn it on, turn the channel, turn it off.
How did we do it? I just don't remember. If I can't find
the remote I go insane. I also will turn the house upside
down. Never mind going over to the tv! That's not an option!
I don't know how to work that stupid cable box thing! I
need that special remote! I don't know when it happened but
I no longer remember how to turn the tv on or off without it.

I can relate to this to some extent. I have no problem getting up to turn on the television, although I would rather not. The problem lies when i want to change the channel or volume. I have more then a few times turned things upside down or over to find the remote. It is scary isn't it?

How is it that the remote ALWAYS goes missing? I mean it can sit in the same place ALL day, yet as soon as it comes to turning the kids cartoons over for some adult tv it vanishes!

The whole living room gets turned upside down then in an attempt to find it, we only ever turn it over at the tv if we really cannot find the control!

Sad to say that our remote control for the TV sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. I often have no choice but to switch it on manually. But when it does work, my husband will be the one who will start screaming for the remote control when he can't find it. Then when he finds that the remote control is in its cranky mood and refuse to work, he will start yelling who spoilt it. I don't bother. I just walk up to the TV and switch it on. Sigh!
