Somebody - PLEASE help me understand this!!!  | | | | 
Some friends and I were enjoying some crab rangoon, scallion pancakes, and one of the fried rices (I don't remember which) while the karaoke dj was setting up. So, we were enjoying the rare pleasure of conversing with our "indoor voices" when, in our ever "A to B" talking style (not!!!), the subject of the youngest pregnancy came up.
I honestly don't remember how we got there, but when my friend tried to tell me she had heard of a Peruvian girl having once given birth at the age of ..... 5!!! ... I nearly patted her on the head and told her that maybe that website was for Elvis spotters and the like.
She's reasonably level headed (even though she gets WAY too into the goings on in the WWE!), so I said "you gotta send me a link".
She did. I checked it out. I checked it out again. I googled and dogpiled and yahoo'd random info from the article and it all panned out.
I...I... I don't get it. Folks...what the??? Maybe this is just because such a thing is so outrageously beyond the realm of "normal" that I'm injecting extra and militant doubt.
First - how is a 5 year old's body READY to CONCEIVE a baby?
How is a 5 year old's body ready to GROW/hold a baby?
How is a 5 year old's body (and MIND!!!) ready to experience childbirth?!
And then....
......the "ewwwe....".... Unless the child's name is Mary, some equally "adult" behavior was done (by - uh, no!), (with - uh, nuh-uh!) - TO this child in order for her to have become pregnant!

Can somebody - especially with some credentials or formal expertise - explain how how how this happens? I've heard of "incredible" human extrema in biology and performance, but this - THIS just floors me!
Imagine all of the ODDS that had to come into play!!! One that this child would have such an infinitessimally rare biological predisposition to make this possible. THEN - factor in the odds of a certain repulsive, disgusting, unfathomable event - (s...ugh.....s.....SEX with a 5 year old!! Ughh!! Yuck!!!) - and I feel like there's a better chance that we in our lifetime will experience a collision with another astronomical entity, destroying the earth!

| |  They call it precocious puberty and it does happen now and then. The chances are that it was some adult male in the family, though I suppose there is an outside chance that some boy was alos going through a precocious puberty at the time.
Whoever the father, it seems that she took the pregnancy and birth well and even had a second child (30 years later). A very interesting story.

I actually, and pardon the frankness, had "hair down there" in third grade and had to leave the choir while I went through my Peter Brady singing style the next year. I had the fun of being taunted with "pizza face" a year after that.
I'd always been told it was because of my early surgeries (3 in all) related to my hydrocephalus. I never quite understood the causal connection. Perhaps because there was none to be had?
Wow - and none of that even entered my thinking when I looked up this piece. What the? I guess 'cause I kept thinking "oh my god oh my god - a kid having a kid!" and ached for what I thought was the risk of a traumatized or abbreviated childhood. 5 years old. I was just floored!
I understand this (child, in 1939) was able, as an adult, to choose to have a baby and be a mom. So, I guess this is more of a "medical amazing stories" than one more tragic and disturbing. Still, I wonder if posthumous examination or some historical hindsight applied to modern medical theory and genetics could reveal the father.
At any rate, talk about amazing. This lady may even still be alive! Of course, whether alive or dead, she does deserve her privacy. | |  I remember seeing a story on that. Last year? Maybe the year before and it is true. She had something with her hormones and she gave birth and even nursed the baby, but it was rasied as a sibling I believe.
From what I remember the dad was in some hot water over this, but after DNA testing he was cleared. There was something about an uncle or cousin that was suspected, but nothing finalized on the DNA testing.
It was a medical show that spoke of a rare disorder. She's the youngest person on earth to give birth so young. Before her, there was another girl that was 9 that had carried to full term.

| |  Yeah, it's unfortunate for the child to go through birthing pains as such as that of course at such a young age, but it's true, as soon as a young girl has their period, bingo! they have the ability to give birth. I myself, Got my first period at the age of 10, no cramps until the age of 18 though (THANK GOD!) but I guess the rest of my hormones caught up to me then.

| |  Good day.. As I'm in the medical field, it's physiologically impossible for a 5 year old to be able to conceive. Her body is not yet programmed or rather not having the needed hormones for child bearing. This is how I see the case, maybe the patient suffers from dwarfism that she might looked like a 5 year old but her actual chronological age is much much older. Just my guess.
