Does The Glass Affect The Flavor Of The Wine?  

You had me thinking on this one, but only till I got passed the heading.

Clean glass will carry no flavor of its own, but thats not what you asked.

The shape of the Glass will help to draw the flavor.

Balloon style Glass for Brandy. (you chase the vapor)

Long Flute shape Glass for Beer.(sends the bubbles up to keep a froth head).

Shampain/brut, bubbley wines in a Glass that will hold the bubbles, no those big open tops glasses they will kill the bubbles.

As for whiskey, (neat) little short shot glass, (not made to sniff or sip but throw down, in the gut is where whiskey is best not in the glass.

But buy a cocktail book that has the glasses in it and check out what glass is best for what drink.

The GLASS will make the drink much better,

That must be true because many times I taste the leaf tea better than other times. When I complain about the cup my mom says that I am being maniac. But now I know its true. In fact your discussion confirmed my belief.

Hmm. It is a very good question! I think sometimes the shape can influence our taste and sometimes not.
To tell you the truth I don't drink these alcoholic drinks too often, just in case.

It doesnt make a difference to me. It all taste the same no matter what type of glass you drink out of. But I am not a big drinker anyway. I drink wine coolers or Coronas right out of the bottle.

I like a glass or two pleae! really I think its to do with air as you swivle the wine around and all that stuff but I have no idea as long as it taste right.

I do think that the right glass for the right drink can make a lot of difference,if we put a tot of whisky into a pint pot then it may well look odd,I like a nice glass,and a thin glass!!I really hate it if the glas is like a thick scholl tumbler,but thats just me!If im going to drink a cocktail then I would like it in a cocktail glass please.

I feel Drinking is really a addiction and not easy to quit all of sudden. But good thing is there are many rehabilition center for helping to get rid of these habits. to make a great change in life..I dont drink but i helped my friends and few of them quit addiction to drinks
