ovarian systs | | | | Hi mylotters, today i have to go to the hospital for a scan, 2 weeks ago i found out i had IBS which is almost under control now, but they want to scan my abdomen, this is not a huge concern but i would still like to know what's going on in there, my main concern is, my doctor told me that i MAY have ovarian systs and that's why i am in so much pain down there, so i m also having a scan on my pelvis, what i want to know is, ladies, if you have had ovarian systs, did you have them removed? did you feel much pain? how did you deal with it? i don't know if i have them, but if i do, i would like to know more about this because seriously i am a dummy when it comes to medical issues, i have to do reserach every time i find out i have something wrong with me, so i thought i would come here and ask about your experiences and what happens when you have ovarian systs, any feedback would be fantastic, i want to wise myself up about this incase i have them and then it will be easier to deal with it.....thankyou for listening....have a great day.... | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |

| | i originally went to see my doc about my stomache pain and bloatiness, he diagnosed me with IBS, then said i MAY have cysts, so i feel at ease now you mention that they don't cut me from hip to hip, if i have got them and they need to come out, then i know that i won't have this massive scar on my belly, and i will be up and about in no time, thankyou for that, it really helps...lately i have been thinking about my health alot because in April i was given the all clear from cancer, so i thought OK, all these aches and pains need to be dealt with, i hate being in pain, so i am doing something about it...thankyou for your response, it's helped me lots... | | | | | | | endometriosis and ovarian cancer New Breakthrough - Endovan Dissolves Endometriosis Quickly & Safely. | | Yes, ovarian cysts cause a lot of pain. My daughter in law had some removed in April. She is not a usual case, as her cysts have come back again.Three months later. This time they are going to also remove her ovaries, but that is because she is a cervical cancer survivor. She actually had a hysterectomy when she was 29, but at that age they did not want to take her ovaries, because of the hormone replacement issue. Usually removing the cysts is sufficient to relieve the problem. I hope they figure out what is wrong. | | | | | | | tattylashes (4290)

| | may i just congratulate your DIL for surviving cancer, i know how happy she must have been to be told that....i wouldn't really mind having a hystorectomy, i cannot have any more kids, my periods are all over the place and i am just plain miserable because of the pain, so if i do have any, which i hope not, i may even ask them to remove them....i doubt they will but i could ask | | | | | | | Great Variety of Washington DC Souvenirs Great selection of Washington DC Souvenirs. | | Hi Tattylashes, I was diagnosed with PCOS years ago but mine were never a major problem even though I had pain sometime that was usually when they were dispersing on their own, a friend had a very large one removed which was about 5lb in size but every case in individual and I think you should really wait and see what they say and how bad yours may or not be as they will advise the best course of action. Good luck. Ellie :D | | | | | | | tattylashes (4290)

| | Another problem they might discover that is painful usually is endometriosis. I went in for a hysterectomy because of fibroids, and my gyn Dr. said he would take my ovaries while there. I argued that if they were healthy, I wanted to keep them. He reluctantly agreed. However, when it came to my surgery, I had endometriosis, which had not (surprisingly) had any painful symptoms. It was very extensive, and it added an extra hour and a half to my surgery. Fibroids are tumors of the muscle, not cancerous. Endometriosis is when the lining tissue of the fallopian tubes grows outside of the tubes, within your abdomen and causes adhesions throughout. Usually it is very painful. They had discovered my fibroids because I started with a period that lasted several weeks and was very heavy. I had no pain until they gave me a weeks worth of progesterone. That stopped the bleeding, but when it was done, I started bleeding massively again and cramping much worse than childbirth. This surgery was all done laparascopically---no big incision. PM me if you like and we can talk more, maybe after you have your tests. | | | | tattylashes (4290)

| | OK here's what happened, i went for my scans, they did the one on my abs for the IBS, but becayuse they didn't tell me to fill my bladder for pelvic scan, they couldn't do it, so i have to go back at a later date and have another one on my pelvis which is a pain in the bum, i really wanted to get them both done instead of going back the hospital is about 2 hours away from my home, so it's quite a long journey, but i will get results for my IBS before the pelvic results, i hope i don't have cysts, but the doc said i probably have, i will let you know what's happening as soon as i find out what's going on | | | | ellie333 (6802)

| | Hi Oh that would have annoyed me having to go back, they really should have told you to have a full bladder or at least given you plenty to drink whilst you were waiting rather than you have to make the two hour journey at a later date. Thanks for keeping us updated. Ellie @:D | | | | tattylashes (4290)

| | i had some bottled water in the car and told them that i would go out and drink it, but she said that water takes an hour to go from the mouth into the body, i wouldn't have minded waiting, but she insisted that i come back, so there was nothing i could have done about that, so all i did when i was on my way home was grumble...LOL...it just felt like a wasted journey, but hey what could i do? | | | | | | | Ovarian Cysts & Cancer Early Detection Is Crucial. | | I am shocked they didnt tell you to take pamprin for it, when I had ovarian systs they made me take pamprin they said it would help to get rid of them. But of course I found out a year later it was never even that, that was the problem. I had 4 major surgeries and none of it was even needed and now I may end up in a wheel chair because no one ever checked my spine. Which was the real problem. Also have them check your gall bladder if you had bloating. Mine was down lower then normal and they took out my appendix thinking that was the problem only to have to go back in 2 months later and take out my gall bladder. And that is the most pain full thing I have ever had other then my back. Hilda | | | | | | | tattylashes (4290)

| | hi tamara, i have just got back from the hispital, they scanned my abdomen and told me that i had to come back to have my pelvis scanned at another date because i didn't drink enough water, so i am well hacked off, this is what i didn't want to happen, i didn't want to go back for any more checks, but i have to now, it didn;t tell me in my letter that i needed to drink 2 pints of water before i got there, so i am gonna just relax now and wait for my next appointment, they are sending my abs results to my doc so i will get them first.... | | | | | | | fibroid tumor? fibroid tumor. | | My daughter had a cyst removed. She also has IBS and endometriosis. When she was 18, her doctor told her she'd never have kids. Well, two years later, she has a beautiful, healthy baby girl.:) I ended up taking her to my OB-GYN and he told her the best cure for endometriosis was to have a baby. I know you are nervous about your cysts but I wouldn't worry too much. When my daughter had her surgery, it was a simple procedure and she recovered within 48 hours. She has one tiny scar beneath her belly button and is not noticable unless you just get right down on her tummy and look. Good luck and please keep us informed. :) | | | | | | | tattylashes (4290)

| | aaah i love success stories like that, so she now has a lovely little baby, that's great news, i hope your daughter is in full recovery now and that she's living a healthy happy life, i am a little bit aniticipant about the cysts, but i am not going to find out if i have them till they do a scan, i did go lat night and have a scan for my IBS, but because i didn't have a full bladder, the couldn't see what was going on in my pelvic area, it didn't state in my appt letter that i had to have a full bladder so that's their error, so i still don't know if i have them, i hope i don't but they should have told me about drinking the water and i could have had both scans on the same day....grrr, now i have to wait... | | | | Wyldrose (577)

| | Hi Scorps, WELL lemme tell ya...i am well hacked off, in my appt letter it didn't tell me that i needed to drink lots of water, so they only done the scan for my bowel IBS, and left the pelvic scan for another time, i was so pished off, but i am not gonna let that get to me, (their fault, not mine) i am still not smoking and i haven't wore a patch since last week, i haven't even thought about that, i do get pains in my lower part and today i have my monthly visit so i'm not too chirpy right now, the pain is nasty, so i am waiting on another appt for the pelvic scan, then they can tell me what's happening down there....i'm not letting anything stress me out either, i know that it will trigger my IBS if i did that so i am staying calm, well kinda, it's not getting to me...i promise | | | | | | tattylashes (4290)

| | hi tattylashes if you have them removed it will be a band aid surgery with just three small incisions and you go home the same day. you will have some really bad pain in the pelvic area and the surgery will eliminate that for sure. years back I had a fairly large incision and was in the hospital for a week, but after the surgery I had no further pain. | | | | | | | tattylashes (4290)

| | good morning Hatley, well i went for my scans yesterday, they did one for my IBS to see what was going on in my bowel, but the pelvic one, they have reappointed me because my bladder wasn't full enough because i hadn't drank 2 pints of water, (there was nothing in my appt letter suggesting that i did this) so i was pretty annoyed about that, the results to my abs scan will be sent to my doctor soon, then i will have to go back about the pelvic scan, i really wanted to get this over with sooner, but they made a mistake, so now i have to wait for a further appt.. ..i will let you know what happens....thankyou... | | | | | | | Natural Effective Endometriosis Help Happy periods again.
