Why Shouldn't My Hispanic Baby Play With a Black Baby Doll?

too many people cant see past the color of skin and realise that we are all the same on the inside
I say good for you for buying your little girl whatever doll she wanted regardless of skin color

Your right that hatred and intolerance is taught. We are not born with it. I think that there is nothing wrong with your daughter's choice of her doll. In fact I think that if I had little girls today I would give her not only black babies but every other color too. Some people are just plain rude and there is nothing you can do about it except make a scene and what good would that do.

Racism is still alive. That is very sad. I would like to thank
your baby daughter because she is more human than those who laughed
and ridicule black race or other races. There's always this superiority
complex among human being, as if other people feel themselves superior
than the other human being.

Good for you!!! We all should be like your little child, as a matter of fact the bible teaches us to be like little children. Children are accepting, forgiving, loving, nonracist, they are little bags of unconditional love...Until we teach them better.

Before they made little black dolls, little black children had to play with white dolls, no one thought anything of that.

I've seen some of the new babydolls out there, and the black babydolls are absolutly adorable. I loved dolls when I was little, if they had made them back then I would have wanted one too, they're pretty.

Again, I say good for you and your husband.

I admire you for being open-minded on this one. But it's really a sad thing that racism is everywhere, and it's hard to change that fact. There's really a lot of lessons we can learn from children. Like what your child did. She did not base her preference on the color of the doll. She finds beauty in things (or people) no matter what color it is. I hope your daughter would grow up like you. You seem to be a great woman.
