i just e-mailed Duncan Hines and.....  

I don't bake cakes often, and when I do, it's whatever I happen to pick up that is cheapest I suppose.

I must have missed a discussion somewhere. What happened with the Duncan Hines cake?

I like Betty Crocker cakes they are so good, what did you find out was wrong with Duncan Hines Cake mix, I know the cake falling apart didn't make you feel good,
You know the Duncan Hines, don't want to look bad, so they are going to send you something, and they are going to tell you how sorry they are, they you had a problem with their cake mix.

I dind't know that pillsbury make cake mixes. Here in Canada we have a sore called ZEHRS, and they carry a really good no-ame brand cakemix in a yellow box. I know people who have used that in the past, and they have never had problems with it falling apart, I hope your second cake turns out. I've enjoyed reading your eneries and traelling along the journey with you.

I love Duncan Hines cake mixes, that is my first choice. Next is Betty Crocker then Pillsbury. Not sure why you wouldn't try Duncan Hines again since you think your problem had to do with the humidity. If they do send you one maybe give it to someone that would love to use it so they can bake a cake instead of shredding it up? Just a suggestion. So it was not the heat that made the break but it was Duncan Hines? well I have not made a cake for a long time but I do I will get Lillsbury because I have heard of it. Have fun

I very seldom bake cakes, and when I do, it is usually left in the pan and just frosted on top. I buy whatever is least expensive, usually the store brand. I have read that when you want a cake that holds its shape for making something out of it is best to use a pound cake, but I have not done anything like that in forever.

I don't usually bake cakes but if I do I want a scratch cake.They are so much better than any mix. Since you seem to be going into the business of doing cakes why don't you do scratch cakes. If I was getting a cake from some one and paying for it that is what I would expect. The grocery store that my granddaughter works for even does scratch cakes.

I know how it feels to be able to tell someone off I have to say right now that the other day I told off Tyson, I read on here that they were not going to give American Labor Day as a paid Holiday, at least for the next 5 years, instead the paid holiday to take its place is the last day of the Muslim holiday Ramadan, so I will happily boycott buying Tyson products and I let them know it to.

It sometimes feels good to get things off our chest with companies that we feel wronged us.

Hey rlfinnash, I have perpared cake one year ago, But i still prefer pillsbury, I think i should also prepare cake.. but have a problem. For one month we are not suppos to eat non veg. so i think i should wait and then i will surly prepare.
