Where do you hide stuff in your house? |
|
When we have Little Debbie sweets or cakes in the house, they always go fast. So I have to hide most of the box of wrapped sweets or they'll get eaten within the first day or two.
Sometimes, I stick the extra boxxes up in my daughter's closet. She's still too small to get up into the closet, so that's the perfect hiding place. The sweets don't go bad or spoil cause they're all prewrapped.
If I were hiding Chrismtas presents, that's where they'd go too.
Sometimes, I hide an extra twenty dollar bill under my computer tower so that I can grab it in a flash for pizza money.
Where do you hide things in your house?

1. danishcanadian (20483) | 1 year ago | I live alone, so I really don't have o hide things. When I lied at home and my Dad and sister lived at home I had to hide money and sweets or else they'd steal them from me. I got pretty good at hiding things in drawers, and under things and behind things in my edroom that they coudln't find wihout being caught snooping!!

beautyqueen26 (9134) | 1 year ago | I've lost money that way. Lucky for me, cause later I found it when we were really desperate for money.
Of course, it wasn't really lost, just conveniently put out of sight and out of mind.
I didn't remember where it was. But I found it and was sure grateful to have the foresight to lay a little bit aside for groceries and such.
Forward thinking!

5. webeishere (12394) | 1 year ago | have a terrible sweet tooth. I also have a daughter and 2 grandsons that like the treats I usually have. I have a dresser in my office and I stash a lot of my sweets there. Doesn't do any good at all though. Everyone knows where it's at. My daughter doesn't ask, she takes then tells me. My grandsons always ask first. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

6. CatsandDogs (5132) | 1 year ago | Well since we don't have kids, we don't really need a hiding space because there isn't enough money to be buying anything special in our house. lol Really though, it's true, we're about as poor as a church mouse, especially this month when everything has hit us at once. BUT I have used some closets as a way to store something that I didn't want hubby to see.

beautyqueen26 (9134) | 1 year ago | Women are the gatekeepers to the future. I've always believed that. If we don't sock away extra stuff for the future, (whether money, canned goods, hurricane supplies, etc.) it won't be there when the family needs it.
I've been poorer than poor and my tendency to pack rat stuff away comes from that experience.
It's so much easier to tuck back an extra twenty dollars when you are doing well than to find an extra twenty when you're broker than heck!
I can identify with the feeling of everything caving in financially at the same time.
Usually it all begins with our car breaking down and then hubby usually loses his job within the week and then everything coming due at once.
So, I do know how you feel.
My heart goes out to you.
I'll remember you and your family in my prayers tonight.
Best wishes!

7. gemini_rose (10121) | 1 year ago | If I have bought treats that I do not want going too fast then I hide them in the kitchen cupboards right at the back. No one ever bothers routing, if it is not in front of their nose then they do not see any further.
If I am hiding pressies or anything else then it either goes in the draws under my bed or in my wardrobe, no one would dare go in there. Money, well I have lots of hiding places for that! I just have to make sure I remember where they are LOL

GardenGerty (20322) | 1 year ago | Several times in my past I have needed that little bit of extra money. Sometimes it is that I have to sell things to get that extra cash. We scrambled to find the $300 to sign up with a company that we want to use and sell their products. It is amazing what you can find. I actually hide my money in Pay Pal, right now. Hubby says he does not even want to know what is in there, or how to access it, even though it is in both of our names. I need to send for the debit card for that, so I can use it more widely.

beautyqueen26 (9134) | 1 year ago | Hi Gerty! I was just thinking the same thing the other day. How the heck is hubby going to get my paypal money if he needs it?
If I am incapacitated for some reason, i.e. in the hospital, hubby doesn't have access to my online earnings at Paypal.
So I need to get him a debit card that we can share just in case he needs access to the extra money.
Thanks for the reminder.

10. DaddyOfTheRose (2805) | 1 year ago | I don't hide things in my house, but I chuckled at your story. My father hides stuff in his house, however. But, that's a bit sadder of a story as he is an alcoholic.:( My nephew found a bottle once and 're-hid' it so grandpa wouldn't find it. Sigh.

beautyqueen26 (9134) | 1 year ago | I hid my grandma's cigs once. Poor thing. Even to the end she couldn't fight the urge to smoke.
Even after all the cancers and strokes and heart attacks she couldn't say no to the cancer sticks.
She was the most courageous and brave woman I've ever met. And in such pain when she died.
I miss her daily!
