Have you written an Ebook?

hi nice to meet you here. I didnt write an ebook before. But i heard it can earn a lot if we selling ebook online. If you are giving free ebook online can help increasing blog's traffic. I would like to know to write it also... Happy Myloting!!

Hi tanniebabe78! I have looked into this over the last few months because my cookbook is almost done.

First of all, you need to choose the subject matter. Once that is done, you decide the approximate length. Example: Short essay ($), college-length essay ($$), "Cliff Notes" ($$), novel ($$$).

I'm going to assume you already know how to write articles because of one of your previous posts.:D

Now, at this point, you can go ahead and do a rough outline. I work a bit differently and am always with notebooks whereas I jot ideas, phrases, etc. down in that I want to include in something.

Then you need to figure how you are going to go with your PDF format or if the Ebook is short enough, it can just be some other format.

My friends call me the Empress of Free and I can tell you that there are a TON of different free PD programs. Some are even geared towards those that are making eBooks just for making money online and include the ability to password protect each copy of your eBook and/or give licensing to your eBook for a set period of time. This enables you to allow sneak peaks, get it for free without having to manueling make vain efforts to get people to delete it from their computer, etc.

Of course with all this done, you are at the stage where you*have* to write your eBook. Some people feel overwhelmed by all that "white screen". Don't. Just use your strengths. Write an article. Put the article aside. A day later, a week later, a month later....whatever...go back. Flesh it out. Fill it in. Before long, you will have a very nice amount of info that is useful to people.

Just please, please, don't make it too long. People like me, who have tight time constraints, just don't have time to plow through so much work. I end up deleting more eBooks than I can count in a month because the author made it so long I was like, "WOW, what I needed was some bulleted keypoints." or something of that nature.

During this time you can easily figure out how you are going to distribute your eBook. Everything from a paid service that will create new random download URLs to protect you from eBook theft to you just having a static URL that people can post on every forum in the world to everyone and they can get it for free.

This next part falls under marketing aspect BUT I'm gonna include it because I don't want to waste your time, nor mine by heading over to another thread at this point.

This is a long-standing tried and true method for years now, offline, online and in every industry you can imagine. Do a teaser. "Coming soon." is how you start. Then as time goes on it changes to a countdown. Example. (using javascript countdown clock) "XXXX hours/days/whatever until (Your Name) releases her exciting new eBook (Name of eBook)." Pump it up. Pretend you are hired to do PR work for tanniebabe78. This is not a time to be shy and modest. Don't worry about affiliates. If you have the right type of web hosting, there are many types of free affiliate software out there to help you out.

Please ensure that you have some sort of "YES. I want to double-opt in to be notified of when tanniebabe78's exciting new eBook (title) will be release." Make sure you have put on the auto response something about, "As a valued subscriber to this list go HERE to print out a coupon (or get a coupon code, etc.) to save (amount) on your purchase of (title)."

Make sure that the coupon/code only works for a certain period of time to add the urgency to ensure you get the sale.

You want to about a 6 weeks before you release the eBook, get your affiliates going. Get them excited. Give them "free" excerpts from the upcoming eBook. Offer a contest to the highest affiliate. This will give your affiliates time to get the word spread about your eBook.

Approximately 1 weeks before you release the eBook, open up pre-orders on your eBook. Offer a nice discount to pre-order your eBook. Give a bonus to the top affiliate that pre-sells the most eBooks before you are "open for business". Which is odd because you have been "open for business" for a few months. LOL

24 hours before you put your eBook "live" you want to have your Press Releases finalized. Because here is the crunch. Within 15 minutes of releasing any new product, you want to notify EVERYONE.

Bear in mind that you will see your best sales only in the first month of release of your eBook. So....you see how for over a month now you haven't been writing just marketing and being your own PR person? Get to work on your new eBook.

OK so let me back up a minute and say you don't want to deal with affiliates. No big deal. You are your own affiliate. Just do it yourself. Especially when you are starting out.

Shoot, this is a HUGE post. Sorry if it is so long. I just wanted to ensure a friend got the info they really need. Isn't that why we are here?
