Should Ameica stop Iran's alleged nuclear programs?  

The U.S. is already acting...diplomatically. We have been in talks with Iran, which is an achievement for both countries, but I don't believe these talks will help. Israel is not going to wait until Iran is capable of firing a nuclear armed missle at them, they will act long before that and, personally, I would do the same thing in their situation. Iran has made it clear that wiping Isreal off the face of the earth is their plan. Israel just wants to be left alone but they have every right to protect themselves.

I don't know. It seems any time we try to stop something like that or help out somewhere we're "butting in" or "sticking our noses where they don't belong". What would happen if we let Israel deal with it instead? Israel has a much quicker and not so nice way of dealing with things when they run out of patience. I wonder who Iran actualy would prefer to deal with. I think we should just tell Iran point blank, "look, either start cooperating or we're going to let Isreal deal with you itself". While we just continue to talk Iran's ear off, Isreal is prepared to blow heads off.

An argument can be made that nukes prevent wars. When both sides have them it deters attacks ...eg U.S. vs Soviet Union and India vs. Pakistan. Based on this maybe every country should get rid of nukes or every country should have them.

This is a good topic for a discussion. There are many aspects of this subject that get very ugly, very quickly, and could very well cause the next world war. I personally believe this is all just window dressing, if Iran wanted a nuclear weapon, they could just buy one from China, or Russia. The question I think we all need to ask is how do we stop Iran from going any further, and how to stop Israel from acting like a school yard bully. The last thing the US wants is any type of action that could be blamed on religion. The US can't attack Iran's nuclear program without causing alot of problems in the middle east, but you can't just allow them to continue to move along with their program. One of the other issues with Israel is the fact that we will have to provide them will military assistance if things start to get worse. We really don't have the man power to fight three wars at the sametime. Thus, the reason why Iran can threaten to continue their program without much worries of the US military stepping in.

To answer your question, I would say that the new administration would have to open up talks with Iran, and trying to stop the program that way. If the current administration tries to deal with this, then you might as well get ready for another war.
