American tourist killed in China........did u read the news?  |

|  I can't believe it......after a spectacular inauguration to olympics, this was least expected.
But see this is it.....I don't know what more to say. Here is the news
BEIJING - Team officials and state media say a knife-wielding Chinese man attacked two relatives of a coach for the U.S. Olympic men's volleyball team at a tourist site in Beijing.
One of the victims was killed and one was injured in the attack on the first day of the Olympics Saturday.
The man then committed suicide by throwing himself from the second story of the site, the 13th century Drum Tower three miles from the main Olympics site.
The brutal attack shortly after midday was all the more shocking because of the rarity of violent crime in tightly controlled China, which has ramped up security measures even more for the Olympics.

| |  My mum said she really enjoyed the fireworks on television for the inauguration of the Olympics. I am not interested in watching sport but China is a country I would like to visit. I thought that it was a safe country with very little violence. I am shocked to hear about a man being killed and another injured in a knife attack. I thought that security would be tight and no knifes would be allowed. The criminal committed suicide because he feared the justice system and he would have gone to jail. I wonder why this brutal attack happened. It is so sad that there are violent people committing knife crime in the world. Poor China, this is bad news for it and I feel so sorry for the people that saw this event, the victims and their families.

| |  Well i read the news and its terrible. But i dont know whats the motive of killing the americsn man. So much crowd for the olympics & the security is out of control of this kind of situation. For me, its better to watch Beijing Olympics on TV than to go there & meet any unaviodable circumstances.
