Who have the more resposiblity to take care th children?

My husband and I share the responsibility of our daughter almost equally. During the week he is with her in the morning from when she gets up till about 2 in the afternoon. She gets to grandmas about 230 every day and I pick her up at 430 and spend the rest of the evening with her - till bed time. On the weekends Saturdays is my morning to sleep in and my husband gets up with her. We basically share the responsiblities on Saturdays. Sundays is his morning to sleep in and I take care of her most of the day because he works at 3. So yes both of us work full time but we do every thing we can to be sure she isn't stuck being raised in a day care - she is with family and we are sure to show her all the love in the world when she is with us.

Between my girl friend & I, there's no "more" or "less" responsibilites... We're both responsible to take care of our daughter equally... We both firmly believe that any & every children's parents need to be more involed in their children's lives... I don't mean in the ways of "over-bearing" type but a healthy natural family involvement...

Both parents are responsible for their own children as they are the one that brought them into this world, why should anyone else take care of them, if they cannot look after their own children they shouln't have had them in the first place.

both. i am married for five years and soon will be celebrating this month of our 6th year wedding anniversary. we both are working when we dont have any child yet, now my wife is a stay home wife and a hands on mom. we have a two year old kid whose picture appears as my avatar, but it is not just the mothers obligation to take care of their child it is a joined responsibility. i can not just tell my wife that she it is her responsibility to take care of the child for i am a parent too.

I can look at this discussion from all sides. I had been working part time. My children going to child care or babysitters. It was very hard on the children.

I am now a full time mum working 3 contracts for deliveries. Through this way, I am always there for the kids and can take my kids with me when I am working. This option is hard on finances.

It is very hard decission to make. Whether to work or to stay at home.

But in the end, it is up to the parents to make sure that children are properly supervised to the best of their ability.

As for me, I didn't want to rely on babysitters. Been there and done that. So I ended up becoming a stay at home mum so that I can supervise my own children. I will return to work when I feel that my youngest can look after herself. But at the moment, she can't look after herself even though she is old enough to brush her own hair. She has become very lazy and has to be told to do everything.

These children are my children and therefore is my responsibility to look after them with my husband's assistance when he is home from work.
