Thats probably what I would do, that one sounds like it might be a bit of a challenge though LOL.

3. lexus54 (2667) | 1 year ago | Hi Rhonda, I guess this order must be your toughest challenge yet. If you search google images for "camera cake", you will find some camera cakes, but these are mostly SLR camera. I guess these types of cameras have a lot of bulk and depth, and easier to be baked and assembled. You will probably have to bake several sections and use cream to join them together~ the rectangular block will be for the camera body, several circular blocks of various sizes for the lens portions and any dials, etc. and probably features like the shutter, on/off button, viewfinder, LCD screen, etc. will have to be shaped with cream. I guess if you set up your camera in front of you, you can probably follow the outline of it, bake the various pieces, join them together, spread the cream over the cake and then shape the features according to what your real-life camera looks like. All the best to you in coming out with an appealing and realistic camera cake!!

4. carolbee (6696) | 1 year ago | Maybe you can try using a square cake pan and use your imagination to do the decorating such as a clump of chocolate icing on top to look like a roll of film. You might check with a pastry specialty shop to see if they know where you can buy a pan in the shape of a camera. Did you Google the search? Hope you find a camera cake pan soon.

6. lilybug (15247) | 1 year ago | I guess it depends on weather or not the cake is for and adult or a child. If it is for a child then I would do more of a cartoon type cake. If it is for an adult then I would try to make it more like a regular camera. You could do a rectangular cake and have the pieces that stick out more be made of just icing.

7. dumblnddzzy (10242) | 1 year ago | I would start with a flat sheet, then 'build' on that another smaller sheet, then a round cake to top it off, just look at a camera as your doing it, it'll come to you, your very talented!!1Good luck...Lori

8. jeweledbluerose (2176) | 1 year ago | That is when I would just get creative by making like a layered cake by taking a rectangular baking pan and a circular baking pan do the required steps for making and baking the cake, than after the cake had cooled cut them down a little, if the cake is suppose to be a small one, than to keep the circular cake in place I'd probably put down a thin layer of their choice of pudding, frost and decorate to make it look like a camera, possibly heating up a little sugar and creating thin circular and square pieces to make the lens and eye piece look almost real.
I've never made one before, but I just may give it a shot to see how it would turn out. It sounds like it would be fun to create.

9. Polly1 (8459) | 1 year ago | I would ask at the cake decorating store if they have any ideas on getting a pan. I would also do some searches, look up wilton and see if they sell a cake pan like that, also see if you can do some searches in the wilton books. You can also do some searches for wilton cake pans wholesale. Good luck I know some of the pans can be expensive. When my mom was doing cakes she look at coloring books for ideas for patterns. Some of the time the picures were big and she copied them, then transferred them to the cake and decorated the cake then. I think one of your best bets would be to talk to the people where you buy your supplies. Good luck if I have any other ideas I will let you know.
