I am now a house wife again yeah!!! |
|
I started working through temps about 4 weeks ago on a job that was going to be temp to hire. It was supposed to be a 40 hour a week job and turned into about 50 or more. The job was very fast paced and was causing me a lot of pain. I would come home cranky with my husband and children and hated my job. I was told it was clean, easy, a family oriented place to work and people my age worked there; I would fit right in. Boy was that a joke. It was dirty, hard, the people that worked there where younger talked about cheating and sex all the time. I am in no way a prude but there is more to life then sex, drinking, and for sure cheating. One woman was my age and wanting to have sex with a 16 year old boy who worked there. I am so happy to be free of that place. I have never hated a job as much as I did that one. I love taking care of my family. It made me appreciate the life I thought I was tired of. I thought I was tired of being a stay home wife. For all you out there that hate your job my heart truly goes out to you and I pray that you find something you really want to do.

I shall say that it is rather a better job.. because here you can take care of your family.after all, family is the best part of our life.we can not live without a family.so enjoy being housewife..cheers..

travibabiesgirl (990) | 1 year ago | You are right it was not a healthy atmosphere to work in. I truly did miss being a good wife and mother to my family. Working there was making me mean, cranky, and making my body hurt to were I did not enjoy my family at all. Thanks so much for your response.

travibabiesgirl (990) | 1 year ago | I miss the money but not the job lol. I tend to be a workaholic when I work as well. But I guess after staying home for so long I realized that I would rather be with my children then at work. the job market has changed so much as well. Used to you could go to work at temp agencies and have a pick of where you went. If you did not like the job you could call and say hey can you send me somewhere else and they would. Then you had a chance to try a job if you liked it and they liked you, you were offered a position there. Jobs here are getting really hard to find at all. Nothing hardly at all in the paper and without a good education that even limits your choices further. To top all that off priorities in the job market has also shifted from what I saw there. It looked like if they liked you personally, you stayed for long term. If you worked hard it did not really matter. Production was a joke there. A few people worked their hinnies off others stood around most of the day talking doing minimal work and made the same rate of pay as the hard working ones. Then the ones working would have to go help the slackers because they were behind. I watched the leads and supervisor and they saw what was going on and even started talking to their favorites lmao. I could have saved that company thousands if they would have let me be in charge of hiring and firing for just one or two days. They paid overtime to over 20 people and only about 5 were working fast trying to get out of there at a decent hour. It was crazy but maybe I am old fashioned I think you should work hard and do your job no matter if you are getting paid minimum wage or $20 an hour. I would love to find ways of making money from home. I earn a little here and from surveys but it is not nearly enough. I have searched and searched and the things that are legit I do not qualify for. I am thinking of maybe trying to do a class or something so that I can learn a trade to better myself for either home or workforce work. Maybe I am getting older and wiser or people are just doing more and more stupid things. I am not sure which it is lol. I think I am just getting older and wiser. It is hard to deal with work now a days. You are right about the gossip and things people do being hard to deal with. I just could not believe some of the things people were bragging about doing. Then if you don't fit in they try to be nice to your face but you can tell it is an act and know that they are talking about you when they think you are not listening. I just wanted to yell I am standing right here you idiots lol. I tried to keep my cool and be nice but it was getting harder and harder. I was getting to the point I wanted to start swinging fist on my way out the door. I knew it was time to move on. Lucky you to have been your own boss. I bet that was hard to work for someone else after having been your own boss. I have been the boss before but not my own boss. It was still some what hard to deal with working because I was used to firing slackers and making sure all was going well at work. Sounds like you have had some real sleazy bosses. Sorry you have had to put up with that junk in the work force. Good for you on the way you quit. I would have loved to see the looks on their faces. It amazes me that people who treat you bad or try to harass you act dumbfounded when you quit. Like they did not know it was coming lol. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences with me. This is one of the reasons I love mylot. I have friends who share and make me feel like I do fit in and it is okay to feel the way I do. Thank you so much for being one of those friends.

moondancer (2948) | 1 year ago | I agree totally with everything you said. It was like that at the factories I worked at here. People not working and staying on the job for being popular. Yes, it was hard doing for others and making so little money. And the frustrations were just not worth it. Having my owen business I put in many hours. I was fair with anyone that worked for me, not like places these days. If you do the work you stay working.

3. drannhh (7501) | 1 year ago | Congrats! It is good for people of both genders to alternate between staying home and having a career, as that is a great way for them to find out what they like best and to gain a better understanding of what their partners have to go through. Unfortunately, most people do not have an opportunity for this kind of learning. I'm glad you were able to get out of that unsavory environment.

travibabiesgirl (990) | 1 year ago | Thank you so much. You are right about it helping to bring understanding of what my partner goes through. I have a new appreciation for him now. I have promised to keep him happy for life so that I can stay home lol. If daddy is happy everyone is happy lol. I think I need to take some type of classes so that should I have a need to ever go to work again I can find maybe a better job with more mature people.

drannhh (7501) | 1 year ago | Taking classes is a VERY good idea for two reasons. As you say it would help you be prepared in case your hubby was ever between jobs or times were hard, but it would also get you out of the home interacting with other adults, so that you would not fall behind in interpersonal development as some do who become insular in the home. Everybody needs to get away from the job once in a while and homemakers are no exception, p0articularly since we/they have a 24/7 job.

4. ch88ss (1116) | 1 year ago | Congrats to you for finally being able to be a house wife again.
It is a special privelege to be able to stay home and care for the people you love most.
I wish and long for the day too. I hate my job, and I hate working there.
But since I got bills to pay, I hang in there but I really hope I can make it until retirement. A long way to go. (more than 30 years)

travibabiesgirl (990) | 1 year ago | Thank you so much. You are right it is a privilege and I had gotten to where I took it for granted. I am going to keep an eye out for a job that is right for me because I do feel bad for not helping to bring in an income. There may come a time when I have to go to work once again and if I can look now maybe I will find the right one without the pressure of knowing I have to have a job right now. If that makes any sense lol. I thought about maybe even trying to take a class to help me find a better job. My friend I hate that you are having to stay in a job you hate. It makes it so hard to get up, go and drag through the day. thirty years is a long time to be in a job that you hate. Are you still planning on going to school? That may help get you out of a job you hate and into one you enjoy.
