Have you ever said "I love you" and not meant it?

no this is something i have always refused to do no matter what, i have ended a lot of relationships after the other person has told me they love me and i havent said it back whenn they asked if i loved them i was truthful. i was with my hubby for 7 months before i told him i loved him as i wanted to be sure first.

Never. When I say 'I love you', that's for sure. I always mean it when I say it. I'm not one who plays with other people's feelings. Love is too strong and too powerful an emotion to play with. Besides, I believe that what goes around comes around. So I know that if I say those words to someone without actually meaning it, chances are it might revert back to me. Someone might profess his love to me without meaning it and that would be truly painful.

I guess some people resort to saying those three powerful words without ever meaning them because they are trapped in a situation where unfortunately, they can't find a way out. They think that saying those words would make things easier for them without thinking that by doing so, they are making things harder for the other party.

I have never once said "I love you" and never meant it. I really don't think I could. Those are three VERY powerful words and should never be taken lightly. When you talk about the stories of the hundreds of couples getting divorced these days and saying they lied when they exchanged "I love yous," I don't agree with that. I think it is very possible to fall OUT of love with someone just as easy as it is to fall IN love. Sometimes you may love someone very very much but you realize with time that they truely around the one that you are meant to be with. Unfortunately for a lot of people they realized that after the wedding vows were said and there wasn't much they could do about it except agree on a divorce.

I think it's very sad and unfortunate when people get divorced and I hope never to be one of those statistics but you honestly never know. Some things are meant to be maybe only for a short time period instead of for your whole life. And I think one of those things can be loving someone.

If I tell a person that I love them then I do love them. It's not that hard to love and I don't find that its something that is reserved for your mate.

Neither do I feel like because you end a relationship or marriage that it means that you don't love a person. You can still love a person but the relationship not work for any number of reasons.

It seems that you are saying that if you love a person that it guarantees a life long relationship. Which in my opinion is so far from the truth. Things change,people change and relatioships change. It has nothing to do with the fact of whether or not you loved them at the time that you said it.
