Last night when I was just getting ready to start dinner my son comes running in from the living room crying. His sister fell and he said she got hurt real bad. I hear screaming coming form the living room. She had fallen and hit the side of her head on the bricks in the living room. (One living room wall is all brick.) She had a big goose egg on the side of her face by her eye and a cut going through it. She seems ok now, but she still has a bit of a goose egg and it looks terrible. Have our kids ever taken a tumble that caused a goose egg?

My kid? Oh, yeah. She's always dancing around and tends to bump into things. She gets gooseggs as we call them and has to put ice on it. I feel terrible when that happens. A few weeks ago, she fell and scraped her nose up. That bothered me because it was her face. I guess knees and elbows I expect to get scratched up, but not my little darling's face.

OMG! I hope she is ok. My daughter hasn't gotten a goose egg. But she was playing with 2 of her cousins one day. She fell and bit her tongue. A chunk was hanging loose. The hospital treated her sent her home. Now she has a scar on her tongue.

Yes, they did. My kids are the same age as your kids.....the older one was always brave about such things. But the younger one is a screamer. But I don't freak out. So, there are quite a few 'goose eggs' that I don't get to know about. My younger one got a really deep cut a few months back. My older one had a stick as a prop for a dance and he had kept it down during the dance. the little one picked it up and it had a sharp edge and he got a big cut...and it was bleeding all over the place. But I don't think it hurt him because he wasn't crying. But there was a lot of blood all over the place. And he fell once and got a VERY big goose egg (cried really bad for this one) but there was no cut. Lots of ice was used to bring the bump down.

I bet that freaked you out as much as it freaked your poor daughter out! It seems like when the kids are really young, the parents are more scared than the child. And who wouldn't be? At that age it is a toss up on how many times they will get hurt before they grow up. I'm glad it wasn't worse, but I'm sure to her it was bad enough. Poor thing!

Oh my goodness! So far, my daughter who has been very active has not gotten a goose egg. I hope that never happens. But she has rolled off the bed before when she was a wee baby. That freaks me out the first time, brought her to the hospital but the doctor just told us to monitor her. She was still active, like nothing happened. The secind time it happened, we did not bring her to the hospital, just monitored her at home. I feel responsible for her fall. Place ice pack on her face? Do you think that will bring down the swell?

My oldest daughter got out of the pool one day. She took off running. When she got to the concrete. She slipped and fell and hit the porch. She blacked her eye and had a hugh knot beside her eye. It took almost a month to finally get rid of it. She would tell people. She what happens when you don't listen to your mom and you run. Happy MyLotting! Hope your daughter gets better.
