Carrying the baby above the head is dangerous

Commonly all says carrying the baby above our head while standing is dangerous. I thought many times but couldn able to bring out why people say so. Sometimes while playing with baby, we carry the baby above our head and show many games to them and they too laugh at most of the times

How old is the baby? Maybe if you carry a 2 month old baby, that is surely a dangerous thing to do, but if the baby is like 6 months older, I think that would be fine.

I agree that carrying a baby that way is pretty common. It also can be dangerous, so just be careful. Don't do it until the baby is old enough to hold it's head up well and sit on it's own with no support. Make sure you keep both hands firmly on the baby at all times and be extremely careful of low hanging objects, ceiling fans, doorways and low ceilings. Also never carry baby like that on uneven surfaces which will increase your risk of stumbling. With the baby up there you will be top heavy and if you slipped or tripped the baby would likely fall.
