What's the worst way someone has ever broken up with you?

I can't really remember being dumped in a particularly harsh way. When you want a relationship or don't realize that the other party is unhappy, I think it is always hurtful being dumped no matter how it is done. I think the worst way I broke up with someone was thru email. I am very non-confrontational and in this particular case, I still loved the man very much, but was unhappy. I just couldn't bring myself to tell him in person, so I emailed him. I think I hurt him a lot. However, because he knows me so well, he knew why I couldn't do it in person. We are still very close today and that was about 4 years ago.

When I was in the eighth grade, I was dating my best friend's brother (the same best friend whose ex boyfriend I eventually married - we like to keep things close where I'm from;) ). God, how I loved that boy, in the way that only 13 year old girls can love. We kind of had the on-again, off-again thing down pat - we broke up frequently.
At some point, for reasons I can't remember, we had a class-wide project that took us to a local cemetary. I was upset to begin with, being a cemetary, because I had just lost a close relative. Anyway, about halfway through the project, he wandered over to my group and just DUMPED me, right there, amidst the tombstones. Then he walked over to another friend of mine to talk to her.
Is that sick or what?
We're actually still good friends, though - I'm friendly with most of my exes.

Well to start this off, my boyfriend and I have been together off and on for almost four years. The first time we ever broke up was because he and this girl were a little too friendly. We had a major blowout about it and we broke up. Little did I know that they had made out one night that same week. His excuse was that he didn't think he ever loved me and that he wasn't sure he knew what love was at all. I was highly ticked off but he has since apologized and we are much better now!

I once had a guy leave a note on my door because he said "it hurt him to do it in person." Needless to say I am better off without him. Breaking up is always difficult, but if you want to move on have the courtesy to do it in a respectful manner.

Hmm the worst way I have ever been broken up with happened recently, last year actually. My ex MOVED ACROSS THE COUNTRY. He was supposed to go for a short time, then he stopped calling. He still called once in a blue moon to say hi and make me think he still wanted to be with me, but when someone spends over a year in a different state across the country the message is clear.

One day he up and moved back to his country without a word to me or the kids. It hurt, I didn't know it then but it really turned out to be the best thing for me.

I never Dumped anyone Cause they Dumped me. LOL i never stared a relationship with anyone but trying to start to make a relation . I hope You give me a nice advice on Breaking Up with someone

This is a long time ago, but at the time it hurt so much . Now i look back and see he was just a little boy . Later on in life he tried to get back in my life and said he was sorry it was a mistake, and it still haunts him what could of been .

I met this boy and everything was so sweet and we were seeing eachother when we were free . we even did night visits when he was done with work . we talked on the phone for hrs and cuddled too . we were getting real close fast.

All the sudden he got scared stopped calling, but still kept me on a string for a month. making and breaking plans . Then one day he said he wasnt ready to date .
I stayed around until he pused me away and made me feel real bad . that boy made me feel that i was not good enough and too much of everything he wasnt looking for .

That was it until he tried to get back in my life, but i moved on, and now am happy . sometimes it is better to not think about what could of been .

I have not tried any of that..I had few relationship in the past and it's always me who will end up the relationship and I always try to make it very subtle..I am lucky to be friends with my exs until now!

I have only been broken up with once and it wasn't in any unusual or terrible way. I haven't broken up with anyone that way either. I am usually straightforward about it.
My husband did tell me about a guy at work that was broken up with a few months back.
He and his girlfriend had been arguing a lot and one day she walks into work and hands him a card. It was an invitation; a wedding invitation. To her wedding to another man. He just stood there in shock.

Another one of our friends told us a story of their friend. It was their anniversary and he opened up his gift which was in a sizable box. There sitting on the top was divorce papers.
