After getting a diploma in travel and tourism it might be quite easy to get a job as a travel agent. It probably wouldn't be all that profitable but it might entitle you to heavily discounted foreign holidays. I think being a travel consultant in a specialist travel agency that deals with booking around the world fights might be more interesting than working for a high street travel agency.Skills in selling and being pleasant are essential for working as a travel agent or consultant.

In the UK you need to have certain qualifications to become a travel agent, I'm not sure if it's the same in Egypt. Look into courses you could do!

I think it would be a really interesting job - but the last few times our family went on holidays, we booked our accommodation, flights etc., on the internet, so I'm wondering how much the internet has affected business at travel agencies. It's so easy to book online now, and a lot cheapter too. Maybe there won't be any travel agents left in 20 years' time!

Its a fun and rewarding career. You can work from home or work at an agency. There are so many areas of travel. I worked as an independence agent and actual travel agency on a part-time after I received my certificates. I also tried the online agent, but I like the office environment better. Give it a try, if you're a people person and love to travel, then you should do well. I did.
