I have a digital camera that has so many settings. It's complicated. |
| |
| A few years ago, I purchased an Olympus camera that was recommended by Consumer Reports as one of the best digital cameras. I heeded what that article said as, before I read that article, I had my mind set on a Sony Cybershot. Anyway, I bought this Olympus camera and it has an automatic setting. However, if that dial gets turned by accident, it doesn't take very good pictures. Sometimes, I press something incorrectly and get in to a menu that I can't figure out how to get out of. I swear, I would love to just go out and buy one of these newer, compact cameras for $200 and forget about it! Is there anyone else out that that is intimidated by his/her digital camera or gets frustrated with operating it? I'd love to know. | | | | | |

| | Yes, there are some cameras with very confusing buttons and dials. I owned some digital cameras. Although I would love the idea of owning one low priced, easy to use auto setting, compact point and shoot camera; the results would be very different. Everyone is frustrated with the operation of the digital camera (especially if it is a pro-sumer digicam). I, too want to see for myself if what the manufacturer claimed was right. So, I tweaked and tweaked, hoping to produce beautiful pictures like the ones I saw in the manual. I was indeed frustrated. It took me a few months to understand how the gadget really work. These days. I know when and where and which camera to use to suit the light of the day. Yes, everything takes time. One just have to have the patience, that's all. | | | | | | |

| | Hi feris0604. It sounds like you have alot of knowledge about digital cameras. I only have the one camera and I am consistently frustrated with it. I've now had it about 3 1/2 years. You would think that I would have figured it out by now. But, perhaps you are right, maybe I just need to be more patient. Thanks for sharing. | | | |

| | Hi PearlGrace, my son knows how to take better pictures with my digital camera and he is only four which says it all really. I for one find anything complicated that has more than one button LOL. Mine is a Fiji one so I guess they all come with their own set of complictaed instructions. Ellie :D | | | | | | |

| | Yes, ellie, we all need a kid under the age of 10 in our houses to show us how to work all the technology that we've got to deal with everyday! That is so funny. I am thinking about buying a new camera but every time I think of what I spent on the one I have, I decide not to. Guess I'll have to keep working at it. Take care. | | | |

| | Mine is a Fuji Finepix 600 and I love it....In fact I did all the wedding pictures for a friend in February and they turned out amazing....It's simple to use but has all the amenities more expensive ones have including taking videos! So I am very happy with what I have. | | | | | | |

| | Hi jill. I'll have to try to remember that--Fuji Finepix 600. I swear, I want a new camera but when I think about the cost of the one I have, I just can't bring myself to spend more money. I'm gonna look this one up on the internet and see what I can find out about it. Wow, you're a wedding photographer! Cool! Good for you. I'd be putting films on Youtube if I could figure out how to shoot the movies. Mine does that also. Take care. | | | |

| | Do you have xp or vista? If you have xp check out the windows movie maker..it's such a fun program. I do videos....I did the wedding one put to music with their photos and I do one for every year for my granddaughter. I also did one for my brother and sisters of us growing up. I bet you would enjoy the program! | | | |

| | Hey jillhill. I have Vista. I probably would like the windows moviemaker. I've wanted to make one of those video thingies with pictures and music and stuff, but I just don't know how to go about it. My husband's sisters made one of him for his 60th birthday and it was just so fantastic, I couldn't believe it. I think I've got those video-making programs already on my computer and haven't even tried to experiment with them. Thanks for telling me about this. | | | |

| | I know what you mean! I never bother reading the menu and I got my camera and I didn't know how to even turn the flash light off (how pathetic). Well, I find that if I have to know a function, I play with it till I got the answer but you are right, sometimes there are just too many functions that they are overwhelming (or even stressful). | | | | | | |

| | Sounds like we are in the same boat. What frustrates me even more is that they don't include instruction manuals anymore and expect people to just go online to look up how to do something on the cameras. At least if I had a manual, I would look things up once in awhile. But, I rarely go online to do it. Thanks for your response. | | | |
