What all Festivals do you celebrate in your country?

MyLot helps me interact, discuss, respond with thousands of people all over the world. i am learned and gained a lot of information from MyLot.
I love Festivals and also like to learn about other Festivals and their origin. Hence I am taking this opportunity to know what festivals you celebrate and what is the reason behind the festival. Also what is your favorite Festival and why?

Well, here in the Philippines we have a lot of festivals. :)
But what I would really wanna share to you is the one that we celebrate here in Baguio City. It is called the Panagbenga Festival or Festival of Flowers. 
It is held every February, a month-long celebration. We have street parades with participants in blooming flower costumes. We also have Float Parades wherein these floats are designed with flowers. xD
The reason behind the festival?
Well, it showcases the City's abundance and beauty of flowers. =) Plus the camaraderie of different sectors here in the City.
