CELEBRITY DUETS Season 2

This coming Saturday, 23 August, GMA 7 will be airing the second season of Celebrity Duets. It will still be hosted by singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid and Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez.

The show will once again be featuring celebrity contenders and the line-up include MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando, Fashion Designer JC Buendia, Comedian/Politician Joey Marquez, Beauty Queen/Supermodel/Actress Melanie Marquez, Beauty Titlist Carlene Aguilar, Beauty and Wellness Guru Cory Quirino, Chef JL Cang, Fil-British Pro Soccer Player Phil Younghusband.

I followed the first season of this show and I enjoyed it. I'm hoping the second season will be as enjoyable as the first. This time, Season One champion socialite Tessa Prieto-Valdes will be one of the judges along with Directo Freddie Santos and Maestro Danny Tan. Can't wait for it! I have a feeling I'll enjoy this better than I did that fluke Pinoy Idol.

I also enjoyed the first celeb duets and my bet won! As for this 2nd season, I dunno. Bf is there and I hate politicians!

Oh that sounds good. I do not usually watch shows from GMA 7 since I am a loyal Kapamilya haha. But I think I will check this show out online.

i don't usually watch local shows as i'm not much of a fan but let me give my 2 cents here. this is clearly a plot by bf to increase people's awareness about him. clearly, the show will focus on bf's other perhaps "softer" side to the voting public. man! what would this "trapos" (traditional politicians for thsoe who are unaware, implies that one is corrupt)do just to get a head start in 2010? thumbdown

hopefully, the guy sings so out of tune that he gets booted out in the first week.

I had the opportunity to watch that show last night( I was waiting for Pda but Varga is still on and we are not encouraging our boys to watch it so we switched the channel instead) I must say I enjoyed it although I am not familiar how the show runs. I liked the part where in Younghusband sang and Ogie put on a gayness tone saying he is rather confused and Regine would butt in saying excuse me, excuse me, hilarious! The most amusing part is when MMDA chair Bayani Fernando sing and he threatened the judges to be kind to him or else MMDA's on full alert on these people lol lol lol and the judges got really scared! Funny show, I'll tune in to them next week, nice one and another reason to take the kids away from that girl show.

yeah. I've watched the first season of it. and I do love hayden!!he's totally cute! drool but too bad, I haven't watch the grand finals of it. sad ..

anyway, it's good to know that there's a season 2. and nice and funny contestants huh?.. season will be more exciting I think.

Interesting line up. Though, Bayani Fernando..? What..? They should've thrown in someone more classy... Like, maybe Chiz Escudero or some of the younger generation of politicians..?

I've been a fan of Celebrity Duets Season 1 and I'm really looking forward to this season. =)

I couldn't agree with you more! The producers of the show should've thought better and they should've gotten any one of the younger batch of politicians. I'm sure more viwers will be glued to the show if they chose someone like Chiz, as you mentioned or Migs Zubiri. But anyway, the show is fun. I enjoyed the initial telecast. But I think for this season, they won't be having different celebrity guests every week. I saw the preview and the same set of celebrity guests as in the first telecast will be on the show this Saturday except they'll be singing with a different celebrity contestant.
