New Cell Phone???

I dont know. I dont have at&t I think if you were to switch phones they might let you do it but you would probably have to pay a fee. At least that's how AT&T operates. I have a motorola razr I like it. I've looked into those smart phones iphone type things but they would be an extra thirty dollars a month. We already pay enough with our contracts.

If you go into the store and renew your contract with A smartphone at the disconounted rate you are required to change to a smartchoice plan and are locked into it for two years. BUT... you can buy a non-blackberry smartphone on ebay without a contract and then just call in and change it over no other plans are required. This just means you can use your phone for voice, text data wont work unless you add a $30 addon smartphone plan.

blackberrys are different they access data constantly so they automatically add a blackberry plan to your line if you have a blackberry without the smartchoice plan. the blackberry plans from what I can remember are around $45 a month.

I hope this makes sence it is kinda confusing but here it is as simple as I can discribe it. if you buy a smartphone WITHOUT a contract and its not a smartphone your not required to have a smartphone plan. Blackberrys require a special plan if not in a contract OR a smartchoice plan. New contracts are automatically required to change to and be locked into a smartchoice plan for the duration of contract.

I found all of this information a while back when I was looking into getting a smartphone I dont work for alltel.
