What do you think of the Yankees or Baseball in general? Has it changed much? |
|
I remember back in the day when my family & I were huge baseball fans. Going to the games was so exciting. Watching them win was even more so, but lately to me it seems the game in general has changed. For a long time I was a Yankees fan, now I can't even remember the last time I watched a game. The sport just doesn't seem the same anymore. To me it's all about the money. How much each player makes. If they don't make enough of a salery then the player wants to be traded. Does anyone else feel this way? Has the game changed over the years? What are your thoughts on this? Please share them with us, because we really want to know.

1. MrsFairWells (380) | 1 year ago | Growing up, as you know, mom took us to a lot of the Metz games and I really enjoyed it but I don't think baseball is what it used to be. Now it's all about the money and the world series. I'm not very into it anymore but then, I really don't like sports very much anyway...

2. avranesjr (771) | 1 year ago | I'm sick to death of hearing about the Noo Yawk Steinbrenners and Baaaah-ston. Makes we want to puke every time I hear about them. There ARE other teams in MLB besides these 2, but you wouldn't know it watching the games on ESPN and Fox.

photographygirl73 (1982) | 1 year ago | I would have to agree with you. I think all the fame has gone to the Yankee players heads, so much so that thats all they care about & not the game itself.

avranesjr (771) | 1 year ago | I'll be the first to admit they've had som good teams and some of the best players ever, but like I said, there are other teams in basebal now, and that've had great teams in the past.

| 3. floridaguy59 (2) | 1 year ago | I am just definitely happy that the Devil Rays beat the Boston Red Sox. I love to say this - I have two teams: the Yankees and whoever beats the Red Sox.
I do think the game has changed in recent years, but not because of capitalism. I think what used to be an American pasttime has been marginalized and become a sideshow to other focuses of American culture.
