Hello my friends. In October I will be actively teaching my son everything he needs to know to be able to go into Kindergarten next year. I did some research online as to what I should be teaching at the preschool level. I have found worksheets ans such. I am looking for curriculum. Does anyone out there have a Pre school curriculum they wouldn't mind sharing with me. Something printable or download able. As long as it is free because we are at a tough time right now. I would greatly appreciate any help I can get. I have a chalk board, and dry erase board, as well as ABC and 123 posters, some flash cards, and a friend of mine suggested a calendar with velcro for days of the week, months, and actual days... Please HELP!!!!! Add me and PM me with any kind of help....Thank you!!!!!

There are a number of websites which will give you lots of ideas and printables. I'm not sure what the rules are on posting links but: family education.com and
under5s.co.uk are just a couple that I've had bookmarked. If you type 'nursery education' into a search engine you will get other sites, some of individual schools. I would say that the most important thing for a pre-schooler is that it should be fun for both the child and yourself and should never become a chore that you have to get through. There are so many ways for a child to learn without being 'taught'. I think the phrase is something along the lines that a child is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be lit happy
Have a lots of different writing materials like a sandtray where you 'write' a letter or number and let your child trace it with his/her finger; let him 'write' in a piece of pastry or playdough; paint with water on garden slabs/coloured sugar paper/a fabric which will show darker when wet etc. Help him/her to master scissors/getting dressed/fastening shoes and coat. Cut labels or packets of grocery items and give him those as his shopping list - (matching activity), recognising bedtime on the clock, role-play and all things creative.... above all, enjoy!

Something that may help your son as well is the JumpStart programs for pre-school age. I know a lot of pre-school programs around here use that as a tool to not only make learning fun but help the kids learn about computers.

Hey. I'm not home right now, but i have a curriculum guide that I have offered for 29.99 and sold many times. I'll send it to you if you give me your email address. I'll be able to send it this evening. You'll get a ton of good info from it... It's based on 16 years of preschool classroom education. :) If you have a site, you can post it as an item to sale/inquire about in return. We can talk about that later. Thanks! Angie
