Unlike Encylipedia Wikipedia allows internet users to add and edit information so it can be the most up to date. I really don't know how many people have tried to make Wikipedia unreliable but its still a cool site that separates it self from the Encyclipedia.

As of now, it isn't accepted as being a reliable source of information, but does provide good sources in many of its articles. One interesting thing to note is the recent studies that have show Wikipedia to contain the same level, or even less, errors than the standard encyclopedia. Taking this into account, I think things are going to be changing, and it may become more widely acceptable as its reliability is proven.

It is not a reliable source as far as for academic papers and such. The reason is because anyone can add information and much of it is not cited by a professional in that field. So much of it can be considered opinionated. The way I personally use the site is to get ideas of other ideas about a subject I can search.

Wikipedia still a cool site. I usually use it to look up information on famous figures or even events.
