Arrgh matey! Need ye'r help!

Pirate costume - I want to make something like this, perhaps with hello kitty fabric instead of the red underdress. What do you say? :)

There is a party coming up where the dress code is (helly kitty) pirate! . I have untill the 12th of september to come up with a great costume so I am asking for any tips and tricks anyone might have. I'm thinking about sowing the costume myself as I'm into making my own clothing and my mom is very good at it and can help me out making a costume. I'm thinking about making a wrench costume, adding an eye patch and kitty ears on a diadem and put a hat over one of the ears (so it's on sideways). I might also add a tail underneath the dress to make it even more kitty . And off course the everlasting bow on hello kitty's ear! More ideas welcome!!

Hi Cyberfluf I think that your idea is an excellent one and I can't top that but I will ask my daughter later what she wore last night as she went to a pirate fancy dress party herself. Not speaking to her until this evening though. Ellie :D
