My Laptop went on the brink

I was without mt laptop 2 days and was about to spazz out. It would power up and the screen was just black. After calling the support line for the company I made the purchase from, I was told my warranty was expired over 1 year ago. Well, I called a local repair store and explained what was happening. Took it in to them and they fixed it while I waited. Cost me $76.50 while I waited. Plus the guy fixed some other stuff while we all chit-chatted. I nave confirmed to myself I would have some real withdrawal issues if I had to replace the monitor. I only had to replace the..something starts with an L (forgot). So to my fellow laptop MyLotters....never close your laptop while the power or display is on. Save yourself from the nightmare and power down.*EXHALE*

Well this case is surely of Inverter burning which is located under the LCD of the laptop, Its nothing bad to shut your display down while on power, it usually happens with the fluctuation of power. Like come on the laptop must be perfect and there must not be any limitations like dont turn down the display. Its nthing to happen usually so dont worry! it wont happen again and again !

That's what it was Rocker! I had to replace the inverter. I could not recall what it was for sure, except it started with an 'I'. I prefer not to take the chance of closing my display. Even when it's off, I let it cool a bit. Don't need the extra expense. Thank you so very much for responding.

Hi Mzhuma, I am so pleased that you managed to get it fixed immediately like that and also for not too much money. I had connection problems for 6 days in May and it was a nightmare. It just goes to show how much we take modern tecnology for granted really until it all goes wrong. Glad you are back online with it. Ellie :D

Thanks Ellie. I was truly bugging not having access to the internet. I do my emails, surveys, post and other important 'stuff' online. My husband would have been ok with me missing a few days away from my PC that he bought for me and now (I believe)he hates. LOL.

Hello Efren. Thank you so much for responding. I did that also. There was a part at the base of my screen that had burned out, so it had to be taken to the shop. Either way, I am so happy I did not have to replace the screen. Usually, if it can be fixed, I will figure it out eventually if I keep toying with it. After 2 days, I just didn't know what else to do.
