We had an accident with the olive oil the other day and it spilled on our throw rug in the kitchen. It didn't cover the whole rug, just about a 6 inch spot. But the oil soaked through to the backing which is a soft rubbery backing. I have soaked and washed it a couple of times but the back is still oily. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the oil out besides throwing the rug out. Thanks!
Use cat litter the next time this happens. It is very absorbent with stuff like that. I'm not sure if it'll still help now that you have tried other things. Try and wash it in as hot water as you dare to launder it in.
