A loving mother wouldn't hesitate to find a loving home for her children if she was unable to provide for them.
It reminds me of the King Herod story where 2 women claim a child is theirs. The King suggests cutting the child in half to share between them. One woman says OK, the other says no, give the child to her. The King knew that the real mother was the one that wanted no harm to come to her child.

I can only think I guess maybe it is hopeful wishing in the good of human kind that anyone who hurts a child has something wrong with them, I just can't come to the conclusion that a perfectly sane everyday person would do things like this it is so sickening and immensely depressing.
