How Much Power do you REALLY think we have over our Lives? |
|
I have been reading about some new theories that are floating around about The Laws of Attraction and new Quantum Theories that say basically if we are feeling something strongly and believe something firmly that we CREATE that in our lives. In other words our FEELINGS and Thoughts bring us what we, in fact, have now in our lives. How much of this do you believe? What are your thoughts on the matter?
Can we be Deliberate Creators of our Own Lives?

So in other words, your circumstances play a part in how much you can affect which way your life goes. But if your circumstances are not terrible, your attitude and drive can affect it a lot.

Kashigurl (1168) | 1 year ago | If some child escaped from those poor slums in say, South Africa, to rise to be a diplomat or a leader of some sort. When interviewed, he'd have to say " I really believed that I could, I kept my faith, and somehow fate smiled on me"...the reasoning is that because he DID believe that he could, fate (or the force that creates in the Universe) helped, or HE drew the relief worker with that power who noticed him and he somehow got that special bit of help that got him out of that circumstance. That's how it seems to work, as I understand it. It can happen in the poorest of circumstances.

But I don't believe that if every person in horrible circumstances had a positive attitude, every single one of those people could have done well with their lives. Some percentage of them are children and are going to starve to death or get caught in a bombing attack or be born affected with AIDs and die young, etc.

Kashigurl (1168) | 1 year ago | Desire is a strong feeling, and it is a FEELING Universe as I understand it. If we put ourselves on that wavelength then we can draw it to us by harnessing that ability.

3. rmuxagirl (6617) | 1 year ago | I think we have a lot of power over our own lives. Yes I believe God has a plan for my life, but it's me that makes the choices in my life. I am t he one who makes the choice whether or not to follow his plan or not. Many times people don't.

Kashigurl (1168) | 1 year ago | So you believe God pre-destines our lives for us, and it's for us to figure out the path. How do you best find out what that path is? I am genuinely curious. Thanks for responding.

With the right kind of power comes hard work and will. Of course, you can't will your shoes into a pair of rocket boots that will prepare you to the moon. Although maybe one day in the future, shoes with a similar ability may be created. A pair that, at least, will send you airborne above buildings.
If you want to be able to run seven miles a day, more than likely you won't be able to just get up and do it without prior training. And, no one is going to give that to you. If you don't have disabilities or other problems that would hinder you in this goal, then you can make it. Some people with disabilities can even push themselves that far.
Power depends on how far a person is willing to go to get it.

Kashigurl (1168) | 1 year ago | I do also believe it is up to the individual as to how far they are willing to take ability. You can push yourself beyond your supposed barriers if the will i strong enough. Thanks for taking the time to give a comment.

5. xParanoiax (4937) | 1 year ago | Okay, this is physics right? It helps explain how things work. Which means you have to take all the other bits of science with it. If all human beings' thoughts and feelings affect the reality around them, obviously this means that other human beings can effect eachothers' realities...and so on and so forth, like a ripple affect. This says that there's a measure of control, we all have, on how we live, but the rest is left to variables that we all create which make up the mass equation which is humanity and its many societies.
I suppose in this way it would be similiar to weather patterns. Slight changes in temperature or atmosphere...even something small like a butterfly, can change it.
A measure of control, yes. But ultimately we are part of a larger equation which means unless we know all the data (and we never will be able to) then we can never have complete control over our lives.
^_^ I love science, what can I say? I do believe this though. It's the very basis science can have on religion (I never believed the things had to be separate).
I'll take that measure of control any day though. It's better than no control at all, which is what scientists have argued was the truth for ages. Even with this though, I'm cautious. It's like a kind of power almost, and those variables...that equation that we're all apart of, makes me cautious. Because you never know what little variables your exercising of what control you have might set off some big ripples.

Kashigurl (1168) | 1 year ago | thanks for all of the great comments, that was a fascinating take on it. I do beleive there are variables too. On a smaller basis, I was more thinking of the changes the individual can make in themselves to change their particular circumstances, illnesses and whatnot. Do you believe that by changing our vibrational output, we can change these things in ourselves? I do believe that I'll take that small measure of control if that's all it is as well. If all it is is good stuff then we should be okay with the ripples. You could potentially help others by helping yourself.

6. zigzagbuddha (1833) | 1 year ago | We ARE the creators of our own lives. As you probably already know, most people create their lives by default. I intend to be a Deliberate Creator. This is in fact what I am using meditation for right now... to change some of the beliefs that have created the more unpleasant aspects of my current circumstances.

Kashigurl (1168) | 1 year ago | We are now living with the ramificationx of our own thoughts of the past, and so I now look to the future that I am creating NOW in my thoughts and feelings...it IS a FEELING universe.
