race tracks |

| i have been to pocono raceway twice to watch a nascar race. it's really fun to experience a race live. I like pocono, the tickets were pretty cheap at about $75.00 each but, i wish you could see more of the track from the stands. has anyone been to any other tracks? what are they like? are the ticket prices decent? | | | | | |

| | I've been to the Texas Motor Speedway and the California Speedway in Fontana. Both times we got the 4-day pack that included the Cup race and the Busch race (this was last year and the year before), practices, and pit passes. We like to sit down in the lower rows, which brings down the price a bit. I can't remember exactly how much we paid, but it was somewhere around $250 each. Both places are fun. | | | | | | |

| | The price sounds reasonable especially since it includes all that. i didn't go for Busch or practice or anything special. i live close enough to make a day trip of Pocono. I want to go to all of them atleast once but kids and finances make it near impossible now or in the near future. | | | |

| | That is cool that you have been there. Actually teh pocono raceways are only about an hour from where I live. I think the price sounds not too bad as I am sure they can be much more expensive in other areas. | | | | | | |

| | if you like nascar you should go sometime. the prices for food are about the same as going to a carnival or fair, same types of food too. from my experience its a good starter track to go to, thats what i was told before i went also. Don't be suprised by not being able to see the entire track though. remember it's not a short track. ever see how motorcyclists all wave at each other and respect one another on the road, that's how Nascar fans are, atleast they are at Pocono. | | | |

| | Hi camomom! Living in Wyoming, Racetracks are all a long way away, But: To date I've been to: Martinsville twice --NASCAR Las Vegas --NASCAR Chicago --NASCAR My brother and I try to go to Denver at least every other year for the NHRA Mile High National Drag Races and have been there for 6 Races over the years!! I've also been to the Bonneville Salt Flats several times for their Speed Weeks! Talk about AWESOME!!!!! Some cars go over 500 mph!!!! I've learned that spending a little more for seats a little higher up in the grandstands usually helps to see more of the track, but I've also been told that tracks like Indy and Daytona are so big that you can't see much no matter where you sit. As far as prices go--- well I guess I'm such an avid race fan that I don't mind paying the prices--- but could suggest shopping for package deals that include travel, hotel, and race tickets as these are usually more cost effective!! Best Wishes and Enjoy Your Racing!!!1 | | | | | | |

| | I have been to BIR here in Minnesota. It is Brainerd International Raceway. They have the USHRA each year for a 5 day festival etc. They also have supercross motorcycle racing. Various other classes of road racing as well. Decent costs as well. Camping inclusded if desired on the infield as well off. Costs vary greatly depending on the event etc also. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~ | | | |

| | I live in South Carolina and so far I've been to Darlington, Charlotte, Atlanta, Bristol and Rockingham(when they used to race there). I actually live about 10 minutes from the track in Darlington. Let me just say, I got the opportunity to go to Bristol this past year. It was absolutely amazing. I'm convinced it's the best place to go watch a race. You can see every bit of the track perfectly from just about any seat. If you get an opportunity to go their, go. Also. I like to sacrifice the money and sit as close to the top as I can. You can see the most that way. Charlotte and Darlington also have great racing | | | | | | |

| | The only large NASCAR track I've been to was Michgigan International Speedway. It was a gift many years ago so no idea as to the cost of the ticket. I go to local short tracks here that are also NASCAR sanctioned and points awarded as well. Mostly Late Models. Theswe run about $15 on the average for 3 hours opf races. They have Meet The Stars everyu year where top name NASCAR drivers come and race against the local Late Model Drivers. I met and got Dale Jr.s Grandsons autograph a couple years ago. Jeffery Earndhart and only 17 racing in the Midwest Late Model race here in Minnesota for one race. I know it was NASCAR sanctioned but the class other than Late Model I forget though. I've met Dale Jr as well as Dale Sr, Matt Kenseth, J.J.Yelley, Greg Biffle, Jimmie Johnson, Busch boprhtres, just to name a few. A great time those days especially seeing them get into local Late Models and race local drivers. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~ | | | | | | |

| | That sounds like so much fun. I wish there were things like that around where I live. We have dirt tracks that are teeny tiny and only run sprint cars. Not as much fun as Nascar or other stock car races. | | | |

| | One track is 5/8 mile and the other is 1/2 mile track. I think thats their size anyhow. Lots of fun with FRiday Night Destruction. Have seen many of the top name Monster Trucks here as well. Demo derbys, trailer races, bus races, various odd classes of cars racing like the 2 person cars. I forget the name but one does the steering and brakes and the passenger operates the gas. Fun to see those races. All sorts of odd things. But each week is a normal NASCAR card as well with the Late Models, Supewr Late Models, Bombers etc. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~ | | | |

| | It's hard to get into if you don't understand the points and rules and stuff. If you don't understand the challenge of it, it's just acrs driving in circles. | | | |
