Anyone rememeber this rhyme?? Its meant to be traditional Australian Kooaburra sits in the old gum tree-ee Merry, merry king of the old bush he-ee Laugh, Kookaburra, laugh, Kooaburra, Gay your life must be. Kookaburra sits in an old gum tree-ee, Eating all the gumdrops he can see-ee Stop, Kookaburra, stop, Kookaburra, Leave a few for me. Anyone know any more rhymes for the land of Oz?

Oh I remember this one alright! lol. When I was in primary school in Perth, Western Australia we had to sing this song all the time. Half the class would start off the song and after the first line the second half of the class would then start and off we would go, over and over again! I don't know any shorter rhymes that are true blue Aussie like this one off the top of my head but for more serious Aussie poetic fare there are few better than the poem "The man from Snowy River".
