how many of you use webcams?and do you use it in the right way  

I have one suppose to communicate and see granddaughter with it but I can never get it to work right. I always have some glitch going on with it. Right now it is not even hooked up. I need all kinds of help with computer stuff. For me technology is just a little beyond my grasp. My husband is even worse off than I am. We have not even hooked up dvd player. I do not even know how to post links so I can get referrals. LOL

You know, I was actually thinking about this a moment ago. I have a webcamera (webcam) that is built-in with my Acer 4520 notebook. But I realize that I haven't used it before yet, since I bought it about a year ago.

When I chat online, it is with my friends who are mostly based in my own country. Even for relatives and friends who are based overseas, it seems that we never had the need to see each other when we are online chatting.

One possible reason is because webcams (or lower-end ones like mine) are laggy, especially over a mediocre internet connection. This may deter some people from using webcams regularly.

However, I am fortunate that I have a webcam as no one knows when it can be put to good use some day!

We do not currently own a webcam. However I am looking into purchasing some as xmas gifts. I have small children, and most of our relatives live in another state. With the webcam they can at least see and speak to them

yes i use my webcam ... and i use it when ... i am taking my picture or when i am talking with my friends or my cousins ...

I don't have a webcam, never did have and don't want one. I did just now however buy a microphone for my computer so we can talk to my mother in law in Africa. I don't really care about having all that other stuff on my computer...
