Alarm clocks: Helpful to you or not?

We only use the alarm clock if my husband has to get up for a day shift. Usually neither of us go to work before 3:00 p.m. so we do not need to get up early. We get up whenever we want to then.

I very seldom need to use an alarm clock. I work from home and pick my own hours, so I just get up whenever I wake up. The only time I set an alarm is if I have an appointment I have to go to early in the morning.

I wouldn't be able to live without it, however after it wakes me up I stay in bed for another 30 minutes because I just can't wake up right away. I'm so lazy! I really don't know how they did it in the old days, I guess there was the giant clock or the church bells ringing at a certain time.

Its kind of funny actually...If i dont set my alarm I wont wake up. If I do set my alarm I always wake up before it.

I always use alarm clocks in the morning when I want to wake up a certain time. Actually I only use my cellphone alarm clock and not the conventional alarm clocks anymore hehe. I can at least choose the tune that I want to wake up into. I sometimes choose nice songs but now I choose annoying ones so I can make sure I wake up to turn it off haha. I also use an online alarm clock which is kukuklok.com which has the sound of a rooster.

I have an alarm clock -- I am using the one in my cellphone. It helps in a way but I have to change the tone from time to time because when I get used to the tone, I tend to ignore the sound, and I have to see to it the vibrate mode is activated so it will in a way help in waking me up.

I do have an alarm clock that I set for 5:30 a.m. 7 days a week. I have had the alarm set at that for at least 20 years. I normally wake up between 5:15 and minutes before the alarm goes off, without fail, no matter how late I go to bed. I guess just out of habit.

But the funny thing is that when I was growing up my Dad gave us the option of an alarm clock and even though he was home in the mornings, would not wake us up if we didn't get it, because he felt that your responsiblity of the day, whether it be school or work should be alarm enough for you to wake up on your own. My whole life he never ever used an alarm clock. He has always gotten up at 5:30.

I think mostly as an adult not only do I wake to my responsiblity but just to welcome another day.

if you are going somewhere there is time for that and you still busy or jsut relaxing or sleeping set your alarms that is incase you forgot the appointment or the things you needed to do in that certain time

I always used a alarm clock or I will late for everything. Maybe sometime I will wake up before my alarm clock ring but most of the time, I can't wake up if I don't have a alarm clock.

It helps for most part - but sometimes I wake up before the alarm rings. Other times, I'm so tired that I shut the alarm off and go back to sleep. I'll definitely wake up if it rings though - I'm sort of a light sleeper.
